Remember I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes...

I loved that book.  His new one, called THE YEAR OF THE LOCUST Is out now.

Michael Connelly also has a new one out called THE LATE SHOW.

They both look good!  LM

@LilysmomI think I started I am Pilgrim about 3 times, but it was too gory for me and I had to let it go. Maybe I should keep reading a bit? Will that first crime scene disappear? It really turned my stomach!

Tell me what you think? Thanks!

@sunala, here is a review.  There are parts that are gory.  Like the reviewer, I  ignore or speedread through.  For some reason, I can't copy the full version here.

I don't believe is out yet... I've been waiting for this release ever since reading 'I Am Pilgrim' a couple of years ago but the publication date has been pushed back multiple times. I thought it's out this Fall (originally scheduled for this past May).

@Lilysmom - thanks for the review.  After trying to read it several times, I finally decided it's time to let it go. There are just too many books out there patiently waiting for me!

I'm glad for all of you that loved it!

@IntoSkincare, I got an email from Goodreads saying it was to be released in July.  I just looked online and I can buy at Chaperts Indigo.  On the Indigo site it says 'not sold in stores'.  On Amazon.ca, it is only available to pre-order only.  I am in Canada.  That's frustrating isn't it?  LM

I've been anxiously awaiting this one as well.  Amazon doesn't have a pub date for it yet ): but I'll be first in line!

Re: Remember I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes...

@sunala, we like the same sort of thing (though I do tend more toward the ghoulish...) - the writing in I Am Pilgrim is top-notch; but I'm not entirely sure you'd be able to last through the rest of the book (no spoilers here, but it does get gorier - is that even a word)?

All the ladies in my bookclub loved it, but I am pretty darn sure there was a lot of skimming at a couple of points in the book.

Re: Remember I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes...

I AM PILGRIM is so well written, one of my all time favorites.  I love the writer's style and I wish other writers were so talented.  I just tried to get through another similar novel and I kept thinking that if it had been written in his  style instead of so many unneeded  characters and descriptions, this boring, mediocre novel would have been just as great  as I Am Pilgrim.  Plus I did not think it was <gory<.  Gore does not bother me anyway..I wish other authors were as talented as this guy.  I cannot finish " slow"  books, no matter what the plot is about.  I guess my imagination has to be switched to " on " instead of having the writer spell everything out to me.   Love it!!
