Ladies, I need help, recommendations for authors.

I once liked Belva Plain and Sidney Sheldon.  That's what I do remember. If there's anyone who also liked those authors, and can tell me who else is good for them, I'd appreciate it.  Otherwise, I need to start from scratch.

Thanks so much.

@qualitygal   I'm going to recommend Maude by Donna Mabry.  It is a memoir of her grandmother's life....very interesting.

Check out the thread titled 'what are your reading", I can't tell you how many good books I found on that thread.

I remember reading Sheldon's The Other Side of Midnight years ago. Will have to reread.  My favorites are Nelson DeMille, Michael Connelly, Anne Perry, Margaret Truman, John Grisham.  They are mostly murder mystery stories or what I call "mindless murder and  mayhem."  Have started reading Erle Stanley Gardner (Perry Mason).   I also like reading bios.

@qualitygal   You may enjoy Dean Koonz.  His books grab you from the first page.  Start with "Whispers."

Try using Goodreads.com

I use it all the time to decide if I want to read a certain book, or if I am reading a Series, what is the next book up.

For research go to the site, then put in the author or the book.  You can see all the reviews for the book and you can see all the books an author has written.  I don't waste my time on authors or books that rate less than 3.5 stars.

Go to literature-map.com. Put Belva Plain in the search bar. Similar authors will come up. Repeat for Sidney Sheldon

I love Erik Larson and I’m currently reading The Splendid and the Vile, about Churchill’s first year as PM. His books are about history but they almost read like fiction. This latest certainly puts most of our sacrifices into perspective.
