I read mostly mysteries. The site I use to keep up to date on new books is 'The Bloodstained Bookshelf'. They list upcoming releases by the date of publication. They are now listing books through September 2017. The are always adding new books and those are written in a darker print so you will know they are recently added.
They also list the series that the book is a part of (Longmire, Agent Pendergast, etc) which I find very helpful at times. With some series, I am more familiar with the detectives and policemen of the story than I am with the author.

I check on Amazon and put the releases to come on my Amazon wish list. Another way is to follow the author on Facebook and Twitter.

I would be interested to hear from others if there is a better way of knowing when favorite series/authors have new offerings.
As @Caligurll, Amazon usually sends an email when an author I've purchased has a new book. Goodreads send an email each month of authors I've read who have new books coming out that month. I rely on the Goodreads list.

Goodreads sends me emails about new releases on authors I've read. I don't remember actually requesting that service. I think it's just a benefit of signing up with them using your email address.
For example, they recently sent me an email that the new Ruth Galloway (Elly Griffiths) is coming out in May. And a new Elvis Cole (Robert Crais) is coming out this year. I thought Goodreads said August, but I just checked Amazon and they are saying December.

I get emails from Goodreads as well. I don't recall requesting them but I always check them out.
A lot of authors have FB pages as well. LM

This is one of the benefits of reading a lot of books from a specific genre.
I love the specialty sites that help us with these things.

I have google the name of many authors or the name of the series and there as always been a series list in order. Some times I print our or just save the site for awhile.
Here is an example below for their 17 books:

There's a great website, called FictFact where you can choose which authors to follow and has an updated book release calendar. I track all my favorite series there and I can print out a calendar with just the series that I follow. It's free too!

Thanks @Starlagirl for the information. It's an interesting site.
I've found that new release dates are not always accurate because they seem to change. I looked up Elvis Cole, just as an example, and it told me his new book is coming out in June. Both Goodreads and Amazon now say December. I was sure that Goodreads had indicated August at one time. I guess you need to be closer to the actual release date for it to be accurate. I hope June is correct.
