Do you or someone you know have a little free library?

I've had mine since February 2021. Our regional public library closed for nearly two years for renovations at that time. And since the pandemic was still going on, I thought what a perfect opportunity to offer a book exchange

It has been wildly popular. And self sustaining. People use it steadily and constantly tell me how much they appreciate it.
It's a fun little hobby

What a cute idea.

No, I haven't seen one around here.

I guess you build it yourself?

@fairydogmother  Yes, we actually have 2 in our "adult community" because it covers 2 towns.  Nice addition and always well stocked with books, games and puzzles.

Yours is so cute, @fairydogmother .   We also have one a few blocks from here.  I think it was in the yard of a former county legislator here-- a charming woman who was also a writer.  Unfortunately, she died fairly recently, and it may not be still existing.  I must check on it.

yes my husband built it for me. I wanted it to look like our house. I pored over hundreds of designs and looked at the ones available for purchase at little free library dot org. That was fun! People get so creative

Mine is for kids and adults. I put the childrens books on the bottom shelf. The top shelf is for grownups and goes two rows deep. The interior lights up at night. Also I keep a box stocked with free book marks in fun designs.

I know of about 5 in a two mile radius of my home.

They are very popular around my area.
