This author is wonderful!  I would suggest reading her best one, "Maine," first.  Then "Friends and Strangers."  Good reads!

I read "Maine" a few years ago and really liked it too!  I also love going there!!

I've read both of these books and also " Commencement. " I enjoyed them all.

@slmsia I appreciate your suggestion. I certainly need a pleasant break from Ursula Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness and Anne Applebaum's Red Famine: Stalin's War on Ukraine. It's been slow getting through those two. I just put a hold on Maine, and added the other J Courtney Sullivan titles to my list at the public library.
