Re: Do you have an author who never disappoints?

I never read a Stephen King book I didn't like.

@Krimpette

Usually I finish a book in a week; however, I picked up one by an author I used to read ( Grisham) and after 2 months I will keep at it until I finish it.  It is so b o r i n g.

I am sure becoming addicted to Words with Friends at the same time only had a little to do with it.

As for the story's ending: I really don't care anymore.

The late Sidney Sheldon has never disappointed me. He was the master of mystery, suspense and international intrigue. I've read every single book he wrote. One of which I read twice and that's something I don't usually do.

Sue Grafton and her alphabet mystery series with Kinsey Milhone.  Louis Penny and her Three Pines/Armand Gamache mysteries.  Some are better than others but they rarely disappoint me.

Anne Tyler has never disappointed me. Any other author I love has had at least one clinker.

But not Anne Tyler!

I love all Michael Connelly books, Harlan Coben, many of James Patterson. I could go on with more.

Jan Karon, Maeve Binchy, Rosamunde Pilcher, Debbie Macomber, and Richard Paul Evans are ones I can think of right now.

[ Edited ]

Greg Iles, Diana Gabaldon, David McCullough and Louise Penny.

Each talented author writes different genres and are masters at what they do.
