........whovever recommended "The Twelfth of Never."

I'd never read it - I got it and found it very engrossing.

For those who don't know, it's about the Betty Broderick saga..........I like those true crime books like this one, and like "Everything She Ever Wanted," also "Small Sacrifices," if anyone can recommend another book like this, I'd like to know about it.....................

The most bizarre and heinous murder case I read is Marcus Wesson. True story. The surviving family members were on Dr Phil a few years back. He had children with his own daughters.

A remarkable story of survival is “Child Called It.” I think this is the name. Awful however another survival story.

True stories can be worse then any fictional story on earth. Sickos!

I heartily recommend The Nutcracker by Shana Alexander. This was made into a movie called "Nutcracker: Money, Madness and Murder."

Another riveting one is If You Really Love Me by Ann Rule. This was also made into a movie--"Love, Lies, and Murder."

I was heavily into true crime for a while. Think I'm going to ease back in. . .

@YorkieonmyPillow.  Ann Rule who wrote Small Sacrifices, does many of the true crime stories.

Did you see the movie on tv Small Sacrifices with Farrah Fawcett? It was obviously horrible, but she did a great acting job.

  I'm aware of Ann Rule. I previously ordered some other books by her but they were more anthology-type books than one story.....yes I saw Small Sacrifices. It was a good movie but of course I preferred the book as it was loaded with details.....

  I ordered a couple of books last night...."If You Really Loved Me," by Ann Rule and "Shot in the Heart" by Mikal Gilmore - it sounds "gory," but I won't read or watch anything that is what I define as "gory," but I looked at the "sneak peek" at the book which seemed to be more about how childhood traumas and dysfunctions affected the author and his brother.........

I enjoy reading True Crime once in a while, and will look for The Twelfth of Never and Child called It.....I saw the Betty Broderick movie several times, and was very interested in the case. I have never read any books about it. So will definitely look for this one!

I'd recommend "Fatal Vision" by Joe McGinniss.  Excellent read based on the true story of Captain Jeffrey MacDonald MD and the February 17, 1970 murders of his wife and two children at their home on Fort Bragg, NC.  It was also made into a mini series.

Just realized when I went to look up The Child Named It, that I read it years ago, and I was so angry and upset, I could never read any of the sequels.......
