Re: All the Light We Cannot See

The book was not the easiest read but I think it’s worth it. It is fragmented to begin with but you’ll find out how it all ties together and it will stick to you.

Re: All the Light We Cannot See

My best friend highly recommended that I read All the Light We Cannot See, despite the fact that we don’t like the same kinds of books. I forced myself to read it to the end. I won’t spoil it for you, but I’m not going to read any more books she recommends. I also read The Nightingale and loved it. I can handle books that deal with deep, thought-provoking issues, but I need to balance them with some lighter books, too.

Re: All the Light We Cannot See

It was on the best sellers list forever.  I started it and put it down because it was fragmented and I just couldn't get into it.  A few months later, I forced myself to finish it.  I didn't like it any more on the last page than I did the first.

This book definitely makes my list of top 5 best books I have read. I have shared this book with a couple friends and they really enjoyed it as well

Thanks for all the feedback.  Have to decide whether to keep at it Smiley Happy.  I also loved The Nightingale and Beneath a Scarlet Sky, both set in WW2.  Another very good one set in WW2 is The Cost of Courage

Re: All the Light We Cannot See

Add me to the list who found this to be a beautifully written book.

What's odd is that I can't say that I loved it, only that I'm very glad that I read it.

It IS a book that'll stay with you.
