@smoky22wrote:@sunala I have mixed feelings on this. Sometimes the large sayings are annoying and sometimes they're cute (usually they are cute). I'm not fond of the oversized book covers. They do not compel me to read a book any more than a brief, positive description. And speaking of a brief description, I'm also not fond of the reviews that are just pasted from Amazon. They are usually too long and I tend to skip over them. And I can just go to Amazon and read them for myself. I'd rather the person posting would just give their opinion. Sorry, hope I'm not being too crabby.
@smoky22, sorry to quote you, I know you've said your piece. Reading all the posts including Jud's above it is obvious:
We all must keep doing what we're doing and keep annoying one another. There is no other way. It's wrong that some should change and some not and who would be the ones to change?
IMO we have to leave things alone. We're all annoyed by some things or a few somethings. But they're not the same somethings. So I say let it be.

@sunala, just making sure you see my post above and hoping you agree there is no other way. You can't please all of the book forum posters all of the time. IMO we all must put up with one another because what bothers me does not bother others and what I do bothers others etc. etc. on and on.

I'm just so happy to have a place where I can find others that love to read that the other issues never even occurred to me.
Thank you at @sunala for trying to find a solution that would make everyone happy. I'm just glad to have a book forum where there are always great ideas for new reads. Sometimes one is pointed towards a hidden gem of a book that they never would have found otherwise.

Well, this is interesting. @LoriLori of course I agree with everything you said because I said almost the same thing in a previous post that has been mysteriously removed. A lot of stuff has been removed, although why mine was is a real mystery to me. I am done with this topic now.

@smoky22- you know what? Me too. I regret mentioning the issues I did, as I had no intention to start a revolution. I tried to do a good thing, but it backfired. The mods came in as I'm sure someone must have reported this issue, and they removed some posts, at least one of which was mine.
I learned my lesson but I'm not going to say what that lesson is, which will only create start trouble all over again. It's over. Happy reading.

"I learned my lesson but I'm not going to say what that lesson is"
Can we maybe stop with the secretiveness? Why make announcements without any backup? Why make the announcement at all?
I have to say though, at least here you're announcing what you're not going to say for yourself. That's way preferable to saying you're speaking (in secret of course, it's always secret) for others.

The mods didn't remove any of my posts I removed them myself.

How does it come to anyone’s attention? There isn’t private messaging here afaik.
I love reading reviews and they’ve guided me a lot. It would be boring if we just stated the title and we liked it or not. In other words, what problem?

wrote:I am no longer going to post Amazon rundowns of what the book is about, due to arm pain I can no longer write full reviews myself, so all I will say about a books in the future is rather I liked it or not, I do not want to upset anyone with my long posts, if I had the ability to review each book on my own I would, but typing is very painful at this point, sorry if my posts made anyone nod off!
I will follow your lead @CareBears. I was posting the synopsis from from the library but I will also stop if that annoys people although personally I would find it helpful.
Edited to add: Whatever went on here was all over when I saw it. All the texts already deleted or taken down by the moderators. I can't even imagine what it was on a Book Club thread.....
