The unbreakable bond of LOVE

Hi my friends,

On April 22nd, I presented the I LOVE’ ring for the first time.  In a matter of minutes over 6000 of you fell in love with the ring and all that it symbolized.  I’m excited to share with you that the ring will be available again for the first time, this Saturday, June 18th during Kerstin’s 10am show.

If you haven’t seen or heard of the I LOVE’ ring, I would like to share the inspiration with you.  It is the most personal design I have ever created.  I made the ring for myself over 2 years ago as a symbol of the unbreakable bond of LOVE that I share with my 3 year-old daughter Olive.

As the Creative Director of JAI Jewelry, I find myself traveling the world for weeks at a time.  As much as I love exploring and creating on behalf of JAI, I have to say, that after Olive was born I found it difficult to leave home.

I wanted to create something that would allow me to keep Olive with me no matter where in the world I was.  So I designed the ‘I LOVE’ ring. (The name ‘I LOVE’ is an anagram of Olive’s name).

The ring recreates the feeling of Olive’s little hand wrapped completely around my finger.  It’s a beautiful reminder, that although Olive holds my hand for a moment in time, she has my heart forever.  On the inside of the ring, I engraved an open heart, where you can add the initials of your loved ones who hold your heart forever.  (My mom recently passed, so on the inside of my ring I engraved Olive’s initials and ‘Mom’)

Since the debut of the ‘I LOVE’ ring, it has taken on a wonderful life of its own.  So many people have shared with me their unbreakable bond of love that they share with their family and friends, those still here and those who have passed on.

You’ve shared some of your most intimate & personal feelings of love and loss.  You’ve trusted me with your heart, both in happiness and in heartache.  Your stories and our connection is the reason I do what I do.  I believe love and faith are two of the most important things in the world.  This ring has come to symbolize both.  That your love will never end and that you have faith that you will be together again.

This Fall Season, I would like to create the ‘LOVE’ campaign and feature your stories and photos of the ones you love.   As a sneak peek, here is a little collage of some of the photos that you have shared with me along with a beautiful story that I received as well.  In the coming weeks, I will be sharing the stories that accompany many of these photos.

From Deb via FB:

“I ordered this days ago and I can't wait to get it. I lost my mom 20 years ago, she was only 58 so way too young to lose your mom. I was looking for a piece of jewelry that would be sentimental to me and when I saw this I cried, it made me think how wonderful to have this and be the ring that would say I'm holding on to my mom as her with me.  Also I was never blessed to have kids so I started doing daycare 26 years ago to be a mom by day at least, so this will also mean all the kids that I have helped raise holding on to my finger Smiley Happy ty ty Scott for such a beautiful ring”
