My New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year!! 2017 was an eventful year. I became a part of the QVC family! I try to not put too much pressure on myself for the New Year, what’s the point? Normally, instead of resolutions I set a ‘theme’ for the New Year. 2017 was the year of discipline. For me that meant getting out of bed on the first alarm, standing up straight (I used to slouch too much), and doing things I don’t like with a smile on my face.

This year I’ve decided to so something a little different (for me) and try to keep some resolutions. But I might need your help staying accountable!

Here are five things I hope to do in 2018:

  1. Remind my loved ones how valuable they are to me, every single day. I’m very vocal, so hopefully I already do a half decent job at this. But you never know what tomorrow brings and it pains me to think I could let my family forget how much they mean to me.

  2. Practice Patience. I actually have taken up needle point in an attempt to become more patient. I love art and crafting, so I thought needlepointing would be a good start. For my first piece, I made this unicorn.needlepoint.jpg
  3. Give back to my community. I met my dog, Don Pepe, at a shelter in Atlanta. Yesterday I signed up to volunteer with local shelters in Philadelphia. Animals give me so much joy, and helping them sets my week off on the right note. Here is a picture of Don Pepe when I met him, and when I put him in my car to take home. Look at the difference in his face! sad don pepe.jpgdon pepe after.jpg
  4. Read a book a week. Also, don’t be afraid to not finish a book. Do you ever start reading a book, decide it’s not for you, but feel like you are obligated to finish it? Yeah, me too. Who is that benefitting!! Right now I am reading "Option B" by Sheryl Sandberg.
  5. Write down daily goals! The best way to get something done is to put it on paper. Until then, it’s just a dream. Hense, the purpose of this post.
