One of the building blocks to a flawless look is your foundation. It can be challenging for anyone to find the perfect color, and coverage. For women of color it can be even more challenging. Some women of color have a yellow tone to their skin, others more red undertones. Choosing the wrong shade often leads to a grey or ashy appearance to the skin. I have been working with our buyers and testing a few of the foundations we offer at QVC and I am delighted to say we have many options for you.

I have a few tips that might help you find your perfect shade/s. First look at your skin in natural daylight. Incandescent light or florescent lighting can change the appearance of your skin. Find the darkest area of your face. (jawline, chin, forehead) That is the shade you should try match with your foundation.

Next look at your face and determine if you need foundation all over or if you only have certain areas that need coverage. Your goal there is to find a color that will allow you to blend away those trouble spots.
Finally, a lot of women of color have more than one shade of tan or brown in their face. You may need to mix more than one color together to find the perfect shade for your skin.
