Beauty Obsessed: Baking

No, I'm not talking about cupcakes (although, YUM!) -- I'm talking about a way to smooth under eye lines, camouflage dark circles and brighten up your entire face for a more restful look.

Step 1: Moisturize

Use your favorite under eye cream to moisturize and prime. I used a L'Occitane Hand Cream that was in my bag, but I also like using the Dr. Gross Ferulic Acid Eye Cream.

Step 2: Conceal

Apply concealer generously using a flat concealer brush completely covering your under eye area. You should form a triangle that extends to the beginning of your nasal labial fold & upwards toward your temple. This will give your finished look a "lifted" appearance by diminishing shadows. Blend thoroughly using a powder or foundation brush. I used the Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector & Brush.

Step 3: Powder

Apply loose powder with a brush to set. Bye Bye Pores Micro-Finishing Powder & Brush.

Step 4: Reapply Concealer

Apply another generous layer of concealer in the same way you did in Step 2. This time, when blending, only focus on the edges of the triangle -- leave the area immediately underneath your eye untouched.

Step 5: Apply powder generously.

Using a blush or powder brush, add an absurd amount of powder to your under eye area. The goal is to completely cover the concealed area with a heavy dusting of powder. (You WILL look ridiculous, but don't worry you're supposed to)

Step 6: Let the Powder Set for 5-10 minutes

Let the powder set for 5-10 minutes as is without touching. The natural oils of your skin will absorb the powder. This is a great time to start on your brown, eye makeup or curl/straighten your hair.

Step 7: Blend, Blend, Blend

The number 1 rule in makeup is.... Blending is your friend. You want to blend continuously until you no longer look crazy (haha). Once you blend out all the harsh concealer lines and excess powder, you should look brightened & well-rested!

Step 8: Foundation

I prefer using a powder foundation (Celebration Foundation & Brush), since it works best with my skin type and covers generously. Since your under eye area may look a bit too bright now, you want to blend with your foundation so it blends evenly with your skin tone.

Step 9: Contour

Baking is a highlighting technique, so it's important to finish defining your face with bronzer. Apply using a fluffy powder brush along your hairline on your forehead, the hollows of your cheekbones, along your jawline and delicately (with an eyeshadow brush) along the sides of the bridge of your nose. (I use Park Ave. Princess by Tarte -- it's sold out on qvc.com at the moment)

Voila, you're done.... and looking FAB!
