Do you usually get the tsv's when they are offered? I'm asking because you could return the lavender and get the kids apple. Then you could get the lavender during the tsv's. The lavender styling products/oils smell really good. Also the gallon of Wen kids is a good deal because it is only offered in the 16 oz size at the moment. This is why I bought a gallon of the kids apple. I wanted the great price, lol! I guess it just depends on which one you use the most, too. Good luck!!

Hi there! This will be my first post here on the forums, so I hope that I can get helpful feedback as I've seen many helpful people helping others.

Recently I purchased the gallon sized of the Bamboo Green Tea, it was waitlisted and I didn't know whether it was actually going to ship or not so I also ordered a Lavender. I received both and I haven't used the BGT before (I know, I took a big risk ordering), but the Lavender is my usual go to.

A little about me & my hair. I had a long break from using Wen, about 2 years. I had used it for 2 years before having left Wen for another brand. I decided to come back so I ordered the Summer Honey Peach (love this), Wen Kids in Apple (ok, I love this too!) and both the gallons. Obviously I don't need ALL the Wen products! My hair type is thick & wavy (depending on which shampoos I used, but now just wavy & perfect with Wen). It's about mid-back, so you can see I would have to use a lot of Wen. My current regimen is using BGT as my first wash, then for the second BGT on the crown and Apple or SHP on the ends.

Going back to my dilemma. I'm thinking of returning the Lavender and getting the Kids Wen in Apple, but I feel like that may be too excessive! I'm getting great results with the BGT, my hair is smooth, the waves are defined without being frizzy and I love the scent. I know I won't be using as much of the Apple & SHP as I would be with the BGT, but since the Apple doesn't come in a 32 oz, I'm thinking of ordering the gallon! But is that too many gallons?

Ok, I know I've rambled lol. I'm hoping some wiser Wenners can help me out here. Should I:

1) just return the Lavender

2) return the Lavender & get the Kids Apple

Thanks for reading & for any advice!

I'm a complete BGT fan - got it when it first came out in the 16 oz bottles and within days was online requesting the gallons. I have long (mid back), super thick hair that is colored, and my hair has never looked better since I started using Wen.

I laughed at your comment about having "too many gallons" - you should see my shower! My first CC is a mix of tea tree and cucumber aloe, followed by a second CC of fig+BGT. I also have Sweet Almond Mint in the shower, for those days that I just feel in the mood for it. And let's not even get into the seasonals - I almost always have at least one of those going in the shower as well. So, obviously, I'm perfectly fine ordering multiple different gallons - it saves me money in the long run and I simply refill my 32oz bottles when needed.

In short, if it works for your hair, mix and match and don't look back!

I'll definitely look out for the future TSV's and most likely get in Lavender. As many suggested I'll be returning the Lavender. Still not sure if I should go for the Apple. I did another wash with just BGT and it wasn't as smooth as when I add Apple in the mix. My hair is saying go for it, we'll see. Thank you for your help!

I wish I can see the showers of some ladies (without sounding like a creeper). I know many have great collections of Wen and many different formulas. I missed out on the seasonals as its been awhile since using Wen. I was gifted Winter Vanilla Mint and it smells delicious!! The others are intriguing too. I look forward to seeing what Chaz & the Wen team come up with next! Thank you for your help!

I've always used Lavender and even at Chaz's salon I ask for Lavender. It was always because I love the scent and never because it was targeting a specific issue I had. I haven't used Lavender in awhile (I'm now afraid to open the gallon), so I can't really do an up to date comparison with how it is compared to BGT. From what I can recall although my hair felt smooth, my waves were defined, but I still felt like the ends were a tad rough. I'm not getting that with BGT, SHP or Apple. Like I said, I'm remembering it that way but a lot of other things could have been the cause for the rough ends. Thank you for your help though, really appreciate it!

You go to Chaz's salon! woohoo me too!!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Megan, some of the gals think the BGT is a tad drying after they use it repeatedly. Someone described it as "gluing" your ends together. I mean it's a great product and one of my favorites but if you are already experiencing a little roughness I suggest you don't use BGT solo for a long time. You definitely need to add something like the Kids Apple back into your mix. At least that's what it sounds like Smiley Wink Don't give up on BGT but temper it with another formula, if that makes sense.

Thanks so much for that tip! I once used just BGT to see if I can go without Apple or SHP, but I wasn't too much of a fan without using the others on the second wash. So my current regimen is BGT on the first wash and BGT mixed w/ Apple or SHP on the ends for the second wash and let it sit for the remainder of the shower. I appreciate your help & it definitely has me staying with mixing BGT.
