Hi there! This will be my first post here on the forums, so I hope that I can get helpful feedback as I've seen many helpful people helping others.

Recently I purchased the gallon sized of the Bamboo Green Tea, it was waitlisted and I didn't know whether it was actually going to ship or not so I also ordered a Lavender. I received both and I haven't used the BGT before (I know, I took a big risk ordering), but the Lavender is my usual go to.

A little about me & my hair. I had a long break from using Wen, about 2 years. I had used it for 2 years before having left Wen for another brand. I decided to come back so I ordered the Summer Honey Peach (love this), Wen Kids in Apple (ok, I love this too!) and both the gallons. Obviously I don't need ALL the Wen products! My hair type is thick & wavy (depending on which shampoos I used, but now just wavy & perfect with Wen). It's about mid-back, so you can see I would have to use a lot of Wen. My current regimen is using BGT as my first wash, then for the second BGT on the crown and Apple or SHP on the ends.

Going back to my dilemma. I'm thinking of returning the Lavender and getting the Kids Wen in Apple, but I feel like that may be too excessive! I'm getting great results with the BGT, my hair is smooth, the waves are defined without being frizzy and I love the scent. I know I won't be using as much of the Apple & SHP as I would be with the BGT, but since the Apple doesn't come in a 32 oz, I'm thinking of ordering the gallon! But is that too many gallons?

Ok, I know I've rambled lol. I'm hoping some wiser Wenners can help me out here. Should I:

1) just return the Lavender

2) return the Lavender & get the Kids Apple

Thanks for reading & for any advice!

I say return the lavender and get the apple. Since you are experiencing great results from the regimen you listed that includes BGT and kids apple, why not have both in the gallon size? It's nice to have options and if it makes you happy and you can afford both gallons, I say go for it Smiley Happy

Megan, please don't let cruel comments stop you from asking for advice. You were worried you would not get the BGT gallon and I understand why you padded your options. QVC plays games with inventory and trying to make sure they have what they want to sell. You were doing the same, making sure you had what you wanted. They offer a money back guarantee and you can make use of that. As long as you acted in good faith and don't order and return all the time you don't need to feel bad at all.

As to what to keep you didn't really describe why you used to use Lavender all the time. Do you still like it? Does your hair look good if you use it? I think you may want to keep it if it's a good formula for you because BGT is sooo different.

BGT is rice-based and has lots of Amino Acids that the Wen girls are always talking about. Lavender is wheat-based and is considered a core formula. Your hair may like the difference between the two and you will have options. Lavender MAY be more moisturizing for your hair while BGT MAY be more strengthening (read protein).

The Kids Apple is also a rice-based formula but without the addition Amino Acids and menthol that are in BGT.

What do you think after going over all of those ideas?

I think that Meghan succinctly explained why she ordered this way, which was also spelled out by KJPA's above post. She was simply hedging her bets that the BGT waitlist might not be fulfilled.

hey megan-- i did the same thing. i got on the waitlist for bgt and also ordered a fig gallon. i was so glad to have the fig again since i hadn't had it in a while and i've been cleansing with it almost every day and now my gallon looks like it's almost halfway gone which is totally embarrassing. but, even though i got 2 shp kits as well, i've been debating getting a gallon of tea tree too instead of having my next tsv shipment come in tea tree and only (ha, only) having a 32 oz. bottle. so, i feel your dilemma. 3 gallons isn't necessarily bananas-- if you know you will use them and you can afford them then i don't see the issue.

i think maggie ola's advice is great. and if you consider what kjpa pointed out and realize that you also really love the lavender but you'd rather have the apple gallon, you could get a tsv in lavender in august or september. or you could get a 32 oz. bottle of it to use occasionally.

It seems you're seeing great results from the BGT so if you don't think you'll use LAV as much I'd return it. There's supposed to be a new Wen Kids kit coming up so maybe instead of a gallon you could get the kit and save some money Smiley Happy Welcome to the forum!

Oh, that makes sense - yes, I did quote DogLvr. Thanks for clearing it up - I would hate to think that I offended the OP!
