Re: "Overcoming Your Fear of Makeup; Part 1"

@JustJazzmom

I like to smudge/diffuse my lower liner so it won't look harsh.  And I never wear black liner.  Well, that's a lie.  When I'm wearing black, which is very very seldom, I'll wear a black liner but smoked out so it's not harsh.

DH has been to 4 Dr's appts and 3 of them took his Medicare card as full pymt.  We WILL get a supplemental plan but haven't yet.

Yeah, that photo was the epitome of harsh and rude of the person who posted it.  I think there is something in the air tonight Smiley Surprised

forget that troll. She has no business here.
as a Medicare recipient for eight years, I have found the coverage very good. We do have a military supplement as secondary insurance. Between the two,we seldom have out of pocket costs. Yes definitely see a qualified advisor about a supplement. It will give you peace of mind.

I watched this tonight and found it really good. Can't wait to see what she follows up with. There isn't much teaching on YouTube anymore and this will be a nice series.

DONE!  Smiley Happy

It will give you peace of mind.

And who doesn't like peace of mind?  All this Medicare stuff is new to us.  I'm sure everyone feels the same confusion at first.  We'll get the hang of it.

yes between social security and Medicare, we were super confused. Rely on the official Medicare hand book, it comes in the mail every year. It's a wealth of information about what's covered and what's not. Do not believe everything your well meaning friends and strangers tell you. Especially when you are set with a supplement. Those cover different things depending on which company you're with. I have a friend up who used to insist that Medicare would cover a gym membership. Um, no. It doesn't. Her particular supplement does cover the cost of her membership. Our supplement does not.
Yes you'll get the knack after a bit of experience using it. 🥰

No buy for lip products?  That's just crazy talk! Would it help to learn that it's not a current product?  You might be able to get it on eBay if I didn't buy them all.  Just looked.  eBay does have a few tubes.  Prices range from $42 to $90 Smiley Surprised

But, I have an exact duplicate gloss from Alamar Cosmetics.  It smells like pineapple Smiley Happy  Alamar still makes it.  It's $15  The Alamar product isn't as thick.  I am glad to know they still sell it.  The website is alamarcosmetics dot com.  These are the two colors I have.  The other color is

@monicakm  Thanks for enabling my no-buy abandonment. 😳😬🫣😉.

I bought a lip gloss trio from Lipstick Queen, who I normally like. They were sparkly like you like. Unfortunately, they had this weird minty taste. It was the grossest thing. So, I think it's the universe's way of telling me to calm down with the lip gloss. ( As I type this I shudder with the memory of the chemically mint gloss 🤮)

Don't look at it like that.  We're lipgloss sisters.  I'm sure you would do the same for me (g)

Re: "Overcoming Your Fear of Makeup; Part 1"

@JudyL ~ thanks for recommending this video! I found it very helpful. At the beginning, I thought her makeup looked awful and there’d be no point in watching further. Then she showed the way it should look and I realized I was interested in her tips! Lots of good info.

One thing I really have trouble with is prepping my eyelids. They are wrinkly and when I apply concealer, it always looks worse. It kind of slips over the wrinkles and when I try to blend, the thin skin “pulls.”

My question is… do any of you apply moisturizer to your eyelids or just around your eyes? I’m wondering if that may help but am concerned about putting anything so close to my eyes.
