I don't have a huge amount of handbags. I've been storing them in clear plastic tubs until now, but recently Joy Mangano was on HSN with a Huggable Hangars set that included a carousel type thing that hangs on the closet rod. It has lots of pockets on each side that can be used for shoes, purses, scarves, socks, etc. Anyway, I'm going to use that for shoes and might switch purses to it as well.

Those plastic zip "bags" that sheets, curtains, etc come in...I save those. So for purses that don't have their own storage bag, I use one of these plastic bags with the purse wrapped in tissue paper first. I have the 10 or so leather Coach purses I own lined up on the top shelf of my closet in these sheet bags. I've been storing my first Coach like this since 1987.

I store my handbags on a shelf in my closet. I use the dust bags provided with the purse to protect the leather. I was told never to use anything plastic...something about leather needs to breathe...

I know zip about organization of any kind. I am terrible at organization. I wish I wasn't.

I have a handbag organizer that I bought on HSN from Origami. That line of organization shelving is amazing and worth every single cent (it's not THAT expensive but still not easy for limited budgets). The plastic zippered bags that things like sheet sets come in work great too! They keep bags from falling in on themselves, which sometimes makes them lose their shape.

Years ago when my local IKEA store opened I loaded up on some window storage boxes. Thank goodness I got what I needed because they no longer carry anything like it anymore. I am able to set them on my top 2 shelves in my walk-in closet. I love that all I have to do is glance up and I'm able to see what purse is in each box.

I do have quite a few handbags that are leather & the ones I don't wear as often, I store them on a shelf in dust bags they came with because leather needs to breath & I also label the drawer strings. I have a shelf for them & the others I wear more often I just place them on another shelf without covering them.

What a brilliant question. Smile It's one thing I have no idea what to do with and hate the way I am storing mine. They're hanging on hangers, stuffed into closets, clothes baskets, hampers, you name it. I don't even use most of them, definitely need to purge. They are so awkward to store, especially if it's true you can't keep them in a plastic bin...although probably few if any of mine are real leather so that wouldn't be a problem for me. I have never had a purse that I loved. {#emotions_dlg.crying} Sad, but true. I can never find just the right one and/or don't want to fork out as much money as it costs to get a good one.
