Hi. After I apply my CC cream and blush, if I take a tissue and wipe my face the makeup comes off on the tissue. Is this how it's supposed to be? Am I missing a final step that "sets" the makeup so it does not wipe off? If I use a primer will the makeup still come off if I wipe my face?

Thanks!

I have never used tissues on my face. To set your makeup I would either use a loose powder ( lightly) or what I use is SKINN Cosmetics candle light pressed powder. I was told years and years ago to never use tissues as they are made from paper which equals wood.

Why would you use a tissue on your face-what do you think would happen?  I would think no matter what you put on your face it would be removed if you wiped it with a tissue...IMHO

You're not supposed to try to rub it off. Smiley Happy

Yes, you can use powder to set your makeup or a setting spray like Urban Decay Up All Night or MAC Fix Plus. If you're looking for transfer-proof makeup, you may need to look at something other than a CC Cream. Some CC Creams wear better than others, but the CC cream selling points are usually color correction and ease of use, not wear time.

If you want a makeup that prevents transfer and provides better wear, you may want to look into Revlon ColorStay or Estee Lauder Double Wear.

@eemapo To answer your questions---Yes, that's what will happen if you wipe your face after applying makeup. No, there is no final step to set makeup well enough that it won't wipe off, though finishing powders and setting sprays often help thing last longer. Yes, if you use a primer the makeup will still wipe off.

There may be certain kinds of makeup that wear better/longer than others, but I think most of them will still come off if you wipe your face with a tissue.

I use a translucent finishing powder to dust over foundation/blush.

Then, I wring out a wash cloth as dry as I can and lightly press it over my face to remove any loose powder.  I don't want a matte finish.

What would bother me more is if the makeup DID NOT come off when wiped with a tissue.

1. Makeup will always wipe off

2. Always use powder to set it. There are many newer powders that don't tend to get into facial lines. But that will wipe off, too.

3. IT cc cream is awful. I bought it, and no matter how I tried to apply it, I looked "made up." My husband noticed it immediately. I thought it was old and old- fashioned-looking on the face. The same thing happened with IT "celebration" foundation. The salesgirl for IT on QVC always says her products look like your own skin. No, they do not. And I am a careful and experienced user of makeup. I will not buy any more of that brand and am back to mineral foundation which is available in many brands.

After face makeup a transluscent powder and a setting spray. But I don't think that will help with a tissue.

@eemapo

There's a fabulous product, and inexpensive, that finishes and mattifies.

I don't know if it wipes off with a tissue but it looks beautiful and your makeup isn't sliding down your face.

3 oz RCMA No Color Powder

$12.00 for 3 ounces. I bought mine a few years ago (for $10.00) and I still have about 1/4 of the container left! I purchased one for my daughter whose skin is completely different from mine: I'm dry, she's oily, I'm fair, she's dark, and she loves it too.

It used to come in 10 oz also (for pros) but I don't see it any more.....
