Re: anyone have problems with wen??

Hi kittie, you have to remember that Chaz is a professional stylist and he is styling the models' hair for TV.

That will be hard to recreate at home.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

I just can't use it. It makes my hair look like something flew over my head and died. It just doesn't give me enough body.

I've bought and used every product he sells. Believe me, I have a dear friend I donate that stuff to. She loves it.

I have the gallon tub that I haven't given her.

Annabelle, I think your hair type is more like mine. Very fine, straight and a lot of it. I don't think kittie has the same problems so these comments aren't intended for her Smiley Wink I wish she could share some of that volume she's complaining about and I would be happy to share some of my flat/straight with her!!!

Mine tends to lay flat on my head no matter how it's cut. I've almost always kept it really short and I often said I look like a little boy if I don't add TONS of product and strong hairspray.

Wen helped me but I still wanted more volume. Then I tried using the Wen Re-Moist as a leave-in after cleansing, while my hair is soaking wet. I don't add any CC as a leave in. Since my hair is still short I only need about a half teaspoon. It doesn't take much! I then scrunch it up with my fingers and let it air dry. When it's dry or almost dry I can then put in about 10 Velcro rollers and leave them in about 10 minutes or until dry. BAM! I got my volume without adding anything else! Love it now Smiley Wink

No other product ever worked for me like these do. My hair is still soft but with lots of volume like I wanted. It feels great and looks great, if I may say so myself! Smiley Wink

anytime you want my hair we can trade lol Smiley Tongue the wen does make my hair soft & is making it long so I love that alot!!

KJPA:..Funny I did the same thing with air dry/velcor rollers today...I have always used Velcro rollers even before WEN, but could never let my hair air dry..I decided to try it today with even a bit more of my SHP Mousse & SC scrunched in...looks great, if I never have to blow dry again, that is enough to keep me using WEN forever!! LOL

This was my thought exactly--you have to have realistic expectations. Unless you have Chaz in your bathroom every morning, it probably won't ever look like the models hair. I believe everyone gave her good advice though to help her get her hair as good as it can be.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

FitnessFreak - thanks for the kudos but I have to pass those onto the other Wenners. I've learned so much from them and I have fun helping others based on those answers! I am still experimenting but I love how my hair is turning out now! I hope I can grow it long for the first time in my life Smiley Wink It seems to get wavier as it gets longer [fingers crossed!!!!]

Lovingit and Quadmimi - I have second day hair now after the velcro rollers thing and all I had to do was spray a little RTM, roll again (takes a couple of mins) and wait about 10 mins. BAM! Looks good again without a re-wash. I bet I can do this a third day too Smiley Wink Loving it!!! I bet the duck clips some of the Wenners have talked about would work great for longer hair. I know if your hair is really long it takes a long time to dry in any kind of rollers but you may get the body you want with duck clips. Hoping they work for me when I get long hair [applies more tea tree oil for growth Smiley Wink]

KittiesLover - I forget if anyone mentioned it in this thread but somewhere on a recent thread the gals mentioned that you should not use Fig, TT or SAM as your leave in if you have trouble with frizz. They said those have the highest amount of glycerin and glycerin is a humectant (attracts moisture) so it's not good when humidity is a problem. I think it was the post *Screams* I can NOT get this frizz under control!!!!!!!! ++. Gotta love that title Smiley Wink

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

No, no problems. But I'm also not trying to get my hair to look like the WEN models because I don't do blowouts.

If you want to get your hair to look like their hair, you need a professional stylist like they have. If you don't have that (and, besides the WEN models, who does?), you might want to book an appointment for a blowout with a professional stylist and ask that person to teach you as he/she does your hair. Then you might be able to replicate it at home. It takes a lot of practice and I just don't have the time for that so I have no interest in it. But if that's the look you want, that's how you'll get it.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

Have you watched his video for adding the curl while blow drying? I'm sure it's not as easy as it looks but I can't test because my hair is short Smiley Wink Key is to start twirling it only after it is dry and to keep it twirled until it cools completely. Of course don't use high heat anyway but probably a little warmth helps before you twirl, I think. Even if he doesn't mention that Smiley Wink

I can get a lot of body/curl in my short, straight hair from my Velcro rollers without any heat. The trick is to leave it in that position (or in the curlers) for about 10 mins. Once you twirl your hair I wouldn't separate it until about 10 mins later.

Let us know if you try this and how it works for you!!!

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

For the first time in years I watched a WEN infomercial yesterday. I think the models for the infomercial have softer styles.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

I like the Wen products and have used them off/on for several years. And yes, my hair is the shiniest and grows great - however, I lose sooooooooooo much hair I have to quit using it. I'm really frustrated by it and don't understand. Anyone with same issue/remedy?

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

irtupid - please search the forums for ""wen hair loss"" and you can read lots of pros and cons. I'm sure there will be an answer for you there.

The first thing would be to stop using Wen and get a medical checkup to verify you don't have an underlying health issue. Some have found the cause to be due to thyroid or even stress. You could also be someone with an allergy to some ingredient in Wen. Best to stop and find out the cause first.

Good luck!

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

irtupid, are you losing hair in the shower but not shedding during the day? Some WENners notice more hairs in the shower but none during the day. Also, I'm not discounting how much you're losing, but some who have been worried about their hair loss have used a rubber filter on the shower drain and counted their hairs that have come out in the shower to keep track. You can look it up, but we normally lose 50-200 hairs a day, depending on the season, our stress, health, etc. However, if you are getting thinning areas only when you use WEN, that's totally different.
