@Kachina624 Yes you are right, xylitol can be deadly to dogs.  On a more personal level, what sort of toothpaste do you get thru your dentist to prevent cavities?  We have 2 dentists in our small town and neither offer any products in house so I was interested in your product.  I use a Sonicare diamond clean electric toothbrush and also a Waterpik and still end up with cavities and I get cleanings every 4 months.

@Boomernichols    I can't remember the name of it and have thrown the last empty tube away but I'm sure your dentist could give you a prescription.  My dentist recommended it for me but the hygienist dispenses it.  Pharmacies would carry it.

yes my dentist told me i take great care of my teeth.. they said that doesnt matter with cavities.. it can be medication, which im not taking any and a few other factors.. they said something about the grooves in my teeth and over time even with brushing food still can get stuck in them. its not all about the oral hygeine...

Zylitol is EXTREMELY POISONOUS for dogs.  My dog almost died from eating some chewing gum (most contain Zylitol).  Zylitol is 10 times more poisonous than chocolate for dogs.  He was in the dog hospital for a day and only given a 50% chance of survival and we got him to the vet within 15 minutes of ingestion.  It damages your liver and causes organ failure.  Dogs also love the smell of toothpaste. I find this extremely dangerous for anyone to use if they have a dog.  Literally a small amount is deadly in dogs.
