Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

I say stop using it if your skin is happier without it. Or maybe just use it once or twice a week.

Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

I still have clogged pores, mostly milia and the clarisonic hasn't done anything to help it.

Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

I think we are also supposed to replace the brushes after 3 months or so? I think that's what the lady with Shiseido told me...And clean it very well after every use (she told me this as well).

And I think they have a brush/head for sensitive skin. I'm not sure if you tried that.

I personally have not been using mine as much.

The Clarisonic is not for everyone. It did not work for me.

On 2/3/2015 Pkb3937 said: I'm not self diagnosing or blaming a machine. By the way, there have been many women whose skin can not tolerate the Clarisonic. Just as not all skin care is not suitable for all women . That's why I came on here to get other women's opinion on it. Like I said, I love the way my skin feels after . The problem is not serious enough to go the doctor . I usually have perfect skin , I'll just cleanse more gently and keep an eye on it.
Try cleansing the brush head weekly in a weak bleach solution. I find if I don't I will break out.

Clarisonic gave me broken capillaries after only about 3 uses. If you are prone to them, don't use it or your situation will worsen.

Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

It is not a good idea for ME,an older woman. My skin is too thin and fragile. Manuela did not come out and say Clarisonic but she is against people over washing and over using scrubs. Also Linda of Elysee skirted around the issue and does not like over washing/scrubs.

there is a makeup artist - Goss? who posted a video on youtube about how the clarisonic wrecked his skin and broke him out, He contacted Clarisonic and They did not reply ( from when I watched it) It sounds a lot like what happened to you.

this is just my experience, and what s couple of skin care experts mentioned on tv. so if it works for some, great! foe me , a gentle scrub once a week is plenty.

My skin is in good condition because I used sunscreen since my mid twenties. I tried to use the brush for sensitive skin because I had delt with a little cystic acne in years past and it peeled my skin in patches!

Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

No, I've had no issues and love my Clarisonic and love mine.

If you do not switch your brush heads every three months or do not allow them to dry between uses, you could get bacteria on the brush heads, pushing that all over your face when you wash. Are you letting your Clarisonic dry? Is your bathroom humid? If you have a damp bathroom and nowhere for the brush to dry, it may not be for you. If your brush does dry, but you want some extra protection, you could also mist it with alcohol after every use and let that help keep the brush clean and bacteria-free. This isn't unique to the Clarisonic - it will happen with a washcloth or makeup brushes you don't wash. (By the way, if you're using makeup brushes and not washing them often enough, those could be the cause of your acne, not the Clarisonic.) Unwashed pillowcases can also cause acne.

Re: Wrecked skin=Clarisonic?

Go to HSN and buy yourself a Foreo Luna Mini. Price was just reduced and free s&h, you will not be sorry. At least go check it out OK!

Many of us love the silicone spikes on the Foreo verses the bristles on the Clarisonic, and the little unit is very easy to keep sanitized. Smile
