I complain about this from time to time, so please forgive me. I am fair with cool tones and always purchase a foundation in fair. It seems whatever foundation I use powders, sticks, creams, and liquids, it always turns muddy on me kind of brown. I have used BM, Mally, LG, etc. Right now I'm using Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar Skin Tint in Sand. I bought it at QVC, I'm not sure it's the right color for me. I have a complaint about it, I have oily skin but usually can keep it under control. This foundation makes my skin like an oil slick, I have never experienced anything like it before. The reviews I have read are favorable, but this is a big fat NO for me! I just wonder is anyone else feels this way? Also if you can recommend a foundation prestige or drugstore I would appreciate it.

I've been looking around for a new foundation lately too. I've ordered lots of brands and have really liked Laura Mercer, I ordered their primer too.
Good luck in your search, this can be so frustrating.

I am also fair and have tried them all. The best one I have ever used is Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation in Fair Beige. I almost cried when I discovered this foundation.....it is perfect and leaves my skin flawless. (I am blessed with good skin.)
I always use a good primer.
Hope this helps.

I spend a decent amount on my foundation, but it's worth it. After years of trying drugstore and department store brands, I tried Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I've been very happy with it. It's light, I use it sparingly and it hides my imperfections. I have fair/warm skin - redhead skin. The shade is use is Beige Rose 22. I never could wear beige shades in other brands as they looked dull and brown. The Beige Rose comes in different numbers. I think I'm next to the lightest in the beige rose family. Of course, there are other shades. I'm just saying, they have a big span of shades and the saleswomen are knowledgeable. I never have that line of demarcation between my chin and neck.
The lumiere foundations also come in moisture rich and velvet. I don't know a thing about those, as I'm happy with this one. The Aqua family is $50.00 and has an SPF of 15.
I use this and Chanel's waterproof Stylo eyeliner. This eyeliner goes on smoothly and stays on. For everything else, I just shop around for shades that appeal to me, although I have several of Chanel's lipsticks that I love.
Good luck in your search. It can be frustrating.

I am a natural redhead and have always been fair. When my hair turned white I became even more fair. I was having some difficulty finding a good foundation shade until I tried L'Oreal true match foundation.I first tried the cool colors - too pink, the warms are way too yellow but the neutral shades are just perfect for me. I ended up wearing the N2 which I thought would be too light but it's my perfect shade.
Give it a try- you may be pleasantly surprised to find your perfect foundation at the drug store.

Just my opinion, but it sounds like you should head to Sephora, Macy's or Nordstrom's, etc. All of those B&M stores have experts who have been trained with different beauty products and could help analyze your skin color and texture and recommend a product that should work for you. I always loved the personal help I received at the Clinique counter, but there are others that can help you as well. Good luck!

@Jordan2 Go to a Sephora or Nordstrom and look at Armani, Chanel, Dior and Mercier and see if you have better luck. I use Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer. Try and get samples to try out at home. ![]()

I've used Doll 10 from QVC for several years now. It covers well and looks natural. I really like it and hope they don't stop carrying it. Their mascara is wonderful too!

@Jordan2I like and used for years Make-Up Forever liquid foundation. I use Jane Iredale's powder foundation.

Maybe try using a primer. The problem may not be your foundation, but rather what is under it.
