It never occurred to me that it would make any difference as long as it gets on my face.

I actually squirt  my Dr. Denese serum to my upper chest not touching the nozzle to my skin I squirt enough to then spread it to my neck and face, not sure why I do it that way since I end up using my hands anyway.

Neither.   

Personally, for serums or moisturizers etc I put a dab on the back of my hand, using it like a little palette, and then dip a fingertip into it and apply.   The back of the hand is flat and easy to work from.

If the serum is liquid, doesn't it run between your fingers?

@JeanLouiseFinch What?  I do that.  It works fine, but then I don't put c*rap on my face.  Sometime I put it on my fingers, on the back of my hand and then on my fingers, or in the palms of my hands and then pat on my face.

But very often I put drops on my face then spread it in.  Now that I know it is dumb and annoying to others, perhaps I'll to it more.

I use back of my hand for everything, from serums to liquid or mineral makeup. Use fingers, brushes or sponges from back of hand to face and neck. I saw someone do it years ago and it made sense to me.

As taught to me when I went to cosmotology school, I wash my hands and apply creams and serums into the cup of my hand and apply with fingertips.

I'm new to using a serum, but I use the second method. I drip a few drops of Josie Maran's on my left fingers, press them together, then press both sides of fingers on my face.

I used to apply it to the palm of my CLEAN hand and dip my finger into it to apply.  Now I do all my skincare by rubbing product between my hands  to apply.  I think the dripping from the face thing is/was YT and Tiktok theatrics.

@JeanLouiseFinch  Fingertips to face.  For some reason I cringe when they have product demos.  The model dispenses it on to her hand and the rubs her hands together.  Then she pats it on her face.  A majority of the product would be absorbed into your hand.  Not a big thing, but it bugs me. LOL
