My husband and I took our three grandchildren on a day trip to a railroad and boat trip. An older lady said your children are adorable. I shook my head and said they are our grandchildren. We both laughed and I thanked her.

So, this is nothing to do with skin or makeup or anything, but as my name implies, I ice skate and the local club had a Christmas show every year. Sometimes I would make my costumes and sometimes I would shop my donation closet.  I had a cobbled together outfit that I have worn in a few Christmas shows which consists of a white button down shirt (stays in place if you tuck it into your tights), a green velvet vest, and black stretch velvet pants.  After one of our Christmas shows while I was skating around helping to clear the ice, one of the kid's mom who also acted as the show announcer stopped me and said I had a hellluva a$$. 

I should say her children were older and she was often known for comments some would consider to be inappropriate.  I have also gotten into arguments with her and another adult skater both of which thought they were older than me when I knew good and well they weren't.  She would never say what her age was but the other lady was surprised to find out how much older I was than her.  I have a grown grandson older than her high school daughter.  

The other time happened at church.  My husband never goes and I never get recordings of any of my performances.  On the rare occasion I actually had a solo I had him come to church to record me.  One of the deacons came up to him and said he must be proud of his daughter.  He is 11 years older than me, but the strange thing was this particular guy knew my husband and me both from IEEE meetings although that had been several years ago.
