So maybe it’s a vacuum sucky thing, like you said after the seal is broken the threads don’t align. By the way, how does the oil hold up after several years? I don’t think mine will last that long but I know that oil in general will go rancid after a while.
On edit I just saw the post before mine.
What about heat, cold, humidity and light, could someone else have use them and not have closed them properly? Was this the first time you put all of them in your makeup bag?

I just had this happen to me. I opened my last 1oz FGP oil and the rubber top totally disintegrated. The cap base seems to fit on the bottle fine but the rubber top of the dropper fell apart. I store all my oils standing up in the bathroom cabinet and this is the first time it has happened to me. I poured the oil in to my old 4oz Tea Tree bottle that I never threw out.

One thing I am learning from today’s threads is check the seals and keep your old pumps and bottles.

Yes bklyngrl, that is what happened to me too, the rubber top disintegrated on all of them.

My bottle is new so the rubber has NOT designated so that is not the issue with my stopper...it just doesn't fit therefore... it goes on crooked... no matter what I have tried.
I do not consider this a minor issue because it is not air tight and I have to be very careful how I pick the bottle up. I also have to make sure my hands are dry when I go to put it back on the shelf because it has almost slipped out of my hands several times.

Yes I think that would be a good plan woody. I have no old bottles so I don't have that option.

For me, the issue was the rubber disintegrating. I kept the little bottles in a makeup bag in the linen closet so they weren't exposed to temperature, light, or humidity. Really the only thing I can think is that the oil disintegrated the rubber (which seems odd because why would we be putting something on our scalp that disintegrates rubber?) or the rubber itself is somehow defective.
I know oils go bad, but these oils hadn't gone bad. The smell was still normal.
