Having read a portion of the settlement terms I must reiterate my previous thoughts: Chaz settled only because it was cheaper than taking it to the end with a fight.

This is not so unusual, it's not an uncommon tactic to drown someone in paperwork and inflated billable hours in order to pressure some sort of settlement...

Lol! You are right @Andreatoo! Those defense lawyers are mighty expensive, and the bill adds up to an astronomical amounts pretty quickly!

Of course, to settle is not unusual at all!  It is rather very common - pay and have the plaitiffis just go away.

Alleged victims liking the settlements also!  In settlement they are not made to really prove ANYTHING!  Nice.  Just sign, get some money and go home. Nice again.

But the happiest of all are the lawers of course. Both - defense and plaintiffs side. They are exuberantly happy!  Hey, they live for and off these class action cases. Woman Happy

for those who are adversely affected by this product, the online claim forms are up if you want to file your claim. claims must be filed by 4/28/17.

https://www.wenclasssettlement.com/

Your legal rights and options in this Settlement:

  • Submit a Claim Form – The only way to get a payment.
  • Exclude Yourself – Get no payment. This is the only option that allows you to be part of another lawsuit against the Defendants involving WEN®.
  • Object – Write to the Court about why you don’t like the Settlement.
  • Do Nothing – Get no payment. Give up rights to assert an action against Defendants involving WEN®.

I used WEN for a while but stopped because I just didn't want to spend the money on it anymore. I also don't understand why these people just don't stop using something if they see a problem with it.

These lawsuits amaze me. This is why things are getting so expensive anymore. Ultimately it's the consumer that pays for it.

I just got an email about this today, I tried WEN years ago and couldn't see any difference in my hair for the expense.  Curious if the email I received was random, or did they get my name from QVC?  Also since it is still being sold on QVC does that mean they are standing behind Chaz?

Yep. This is why things get more expensive all the time. The "class"(less) actions like this one happen to thousands of American Companies every day. Everywhere. For whatever reason.

THIS is ONE of the reasons, on top of others, (but that would be a different discussion subject), ONE of the reasons productds are so expensive in US. Well, you can always get hair products made in China on shelves everywhere. Still cheap, well considerably "less expensive", than top quality products like WEN.

My personal "thanks" to those go decide to go for their $25 for just making my favorite hair product to be even more expensive for me! Forever gratefull.......

I received an email this morning about this suit.  Talked all about it.  Had links attached to join the suit either online or by mail.

Not referencing this particular class-action lawsuit in any way: There are frivolous suits, and there are very serious and important suits.

If our legal system did not include the ability to lodge class-action suits (something that companies would just love), many deserving victims would never get a chance at retribution.

What about new, unknowing customers who use the product and have a bad reaction?  Can the company ever be sued again?

I seriously doubt it, because one of the complaints sued for failure to warn and I bet a warning to not use if you have a negative reaction will be appearing on bottles in the future.

@jaxs mom - Actually it's already on the bottles and has been for at least a year.
