Just recently my eyes started watering really bad. I use really good eye drops to whiten my eyes. Could this be dry eyes?

My suggestion would be to stop using the whitening eye drops. If the condition continues, see an ophthalmologist. No need to take chances with eye health.

I have dry eyes due to Sjogrens and believe me they never water. I would try stopping the eye drops you're using to see if that makes a difference.  It may be allergies or the products you might be using near your eyes, such as makeup or creams.

It could be dry eyes.  Skip the whitening drops and try moisturizing drops for dry eyes.  Visit an eye care professional if symptoms get worse.

I have had dry eyes for years.  Prescription drops did very little. I use OTC eye gel or ointment at night which helps a lot.

As others have suggested, stop the whitening drops.  They could be irritating your eyes or possibly you hae developed a reaction to them.

Years ago my ophthalmologist told me to use liquid tears or saline but not to use whitening eye drops because they reduce blood flow in the eyes. So as mentioned, that is the first thing I would do...

@Parischic Are you wearing eye makeup when they water?  If you are, it could be your eye shadow/liner/mascara.  There are a few shadows that I have used that sometimes cause my right eye to water like crazy.  Not sure what ingredient causes it because I have other shadows by the same brand that are fine, but there are a handful that always cause watery eyes.

Whatever it is, I hope you can find a solution.  It's very annoying!

Also, as others have said, stop using those drops and see what happens.  I use Lumify drops which are great for whitening your eye, but I only use them on special occasions because I've read that they're not meant to be used every day.

@Parischic - Like everyone else here has recommended, please see your doctor ASAP.

I have watery eyes from allergies. At first I thought it might be eye makeup, which I wear every day, but changing brands and going without eye makeup didn't make a difference.

I will also recommend stopping the drops until you talk to someone.

Good luck as you find the answer!

It could be a blocked tear duct.  I had this problem last summer.  Went to the eye doctor and he did a procedure to clear the duct.  I, too, had used drops with no results.  This procedure did the trick.
