Did you know you can use dental floss (unwaxed) to cut cake layers in half to make a tall 4 layer cake?
OR
Vaseline on your heels helps prevent blisters from new shoes?
OR
That light shimmer shadow in your palette can be used on that dark inner corner of the eye as a brightener or on the center of the lower lip to cheat a plumper look?
What items have varied uses in your vanity or bathroom closet?

Yes, I did know about these that have been mentioned. Dental floss is also handy for cutting cinnamon roll dough. Once the dough is rolled into a log, position the floss underneath it, bringing it up on either side. Cross the two sections of floss and pull.
- A brown eyeshadow palette with a wide variety of shades can often be used as bronzer or contour, eyebrow powder, eyeliner, even lip color, in addition to just eyeshadow.
- Inexpensive shower caps can be used to cover shoes before packing for travel
- Shaving cream can be used to remove stains in carpet and upholstery
- Toothpaste can calm down a minor burn

Someone mentioned today that they’re using their leftover Purity to clean the bathtub. That’s strong stuff!

Anyone use toothpaste to clean their silver jewelry?

@Shanus I have used dental floss to cut sheet cakes at work. Works perfectly but I think waxed floss was used in my case.

@just bee You can, but it’s gritty and may scratch a shiny finish. A polishing cloth is a better choice...no damage. Mouthwash, however, will clean diamonds.
I use my sonic toothbrush, to clean some of my jewelry. I just change out the brush head and use an older, used one on the jewelry with Dawn liquid.

Yes, I've used toothpaste and old toothbrushes to clean my jewelry for years! I keep most of my old toothbrushes to use for cleaning all sorts of small stuff.
I also keep my old mascara brushes -- toss the tube of old mascara, but keep the brush applicator, wash it with soap and water. These tiny brushes clean all those teensy nooks and crannies around the house. Mascara brushes are excellent for cleaning combs.
Also, put combs and hairbrushes in the dishwasher occasionally to sanitize them.
