I am thinking that I need to order a container of tea tree to help my scalp. I get these bumps at the back of my scalp that are aggravated by stress & I usually treat them with Sea Breeze but am thinking that tea tree might be my answer. I have used it in the past & I remember it had a ""medicated smell"" but I don't remember it being that bad & believe me I have a gag reflex that is made worse by really bad smells & this cleansing conditioner didn't even phase me but I know everyone is different.

No, I don't like Tea Tree, and Lavender makes my eyes sting. The ones with a high concentration of Menthol really does a job on my eyes, I can't deal with them. I use Fig but also don't care for the smell of that one either but it does a good job of moisturizing. The only ones I like are the Orange and the Peach, especially the Peach and would continue to use them all year if they were available.
I just tried Bamboo Tea Tree and that one's pleasant IMHO, and I love what it does for my hair. So I will use up my gallon of Fig as it helps my hair, but I've found the one that works the best for me and it's BTT.
It's been a VERY expensive learning curve................ But ma hairs lookin good!!!

Tea Tree smell is medicinal, but I got used to it very quickly. Mix a little peppermint in with the TT, and it's invigorating.

Someone said it smells like Vicks Vapor Rub, but I don't see it.
That is what my husband said the first time I tried the oil. It was very strong to me the first time but every time thereafter, I don't notice it so much. Love what it is doing for my hair and as long as my husband has no issue with it, I will continue.
I do want to try other oils but they have to be able to do what the tea tree does....anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

I mix it with Peach or now the Pear. When I don't have those I mix it with whatever I have handy. It does wonders for my hair and I tolerate. To me, it smells like gasoline. I only use it mixed but it is so worth it. I
What bothered me the most was the Apple Spice. Felt like I had a apple pie on my hair. But, TT really has turned my hair around.

If you look up the various ingredients in each oil you'll notice each have ingredients specific to the base.
TT oil- tea tree leaf oil (super healing of infections like acne or fungal infections), rosemary leaf oil (prevents/treats baldness, treats eczema, wound healing), peppermint oil (pain, itchiness), eucalyptus oil (healing of infections, acne and wounds).
So if you're looking for something similar as in treatment wise I'd say look at cucumber thyme oil or fig sweet orange. Here's why:
CA oil- thyme oil (kills germs, treats baldness, fights bacterial and fungal infections), cucumber fruit extract (detoxifies pores, treats dry skin and acne, retains skin moisture levels, treats eczema and psoriasis), mandarin orange peel oil (soothes and conditions skin), bergamot fruit oil (treats psoriasis), aloe vera leaf juice (treats psorasis, wound healing, kills bacteria)
FIG oil- balsam peru oil (healing properties), fig extract (moisturization), sweet orange essential oil (anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, fights dandruff), cedarwood oil (helps cure dandruff specifically seborrhea, reduces redness due to seborrhea, reduces sebum production, anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, treats fungal infections), ylang ylang oil (helps cure dandruff specifically seborrhea, reduces redness due to seborrhea, reduces sebum production, anti-septic, helps with skin moisture levels).

Yes, I was one of those people. Or Bengay which reminds me of the way my grandmother smelled when she put this on her back. I happen to love Fig and I adore the Fig Body Moisturizer as well. Pom and Fig are a good mixture as well. Oh well, live and learn.

I use Tea Tree and don't care for the smell as I'm cleansing but IMO it doesn't linger after rinsing, it seems to me the smell goes down the drain along with the cleanser. Either that or my nose isn't working like it used to because I've tried some shampoos in the past that were so fragrant the smell was almost like I was smelling fruity perfume floating around me all day which got annoying so I'd toss them out.
