Dorothy Dandridge..

 

Her life ended to soon. She also had relationship with Otto Preminger. 

It's rumored a bad influence on her career choices. Sadly possibly true.

Yes, I have heard of her and think there are several movies about her life.  I know I've seen at least one in bits and pieces.

 

Sadly, many women of that era seemed to have succumbed to bad influences on their lives/careers. 

 

Sometimes, it seems little has changed.
