I have used V as an occlusive on my dry face for a couple of years now and will continue to do so. You have to use common sense and not believe everything you hear. If Grandma loved it, I do to.

Years ago I had a doctor tell me that Noxema was one of the worst things you could put on your face.  He said it was a pore clogger and would aggravate acne.

I never used the stuff.

Love Vaseline.

Is it really bad to use on skin, you hear so much on each side?

No it's not.

It's also not the stuff we put in our cars as falsely claimed during some QVC product presentations.

I'm sorry not to get off topic, but does anyone remember

Vitamin A & D cream sold at drug stores?

It was good too.  I had a great facialist in my early  30's and she recommended it  for dry, red, sensitive, irritated skin.

Now I'm talking many years ago for irritation, etc. when I was a youngster.

If what you're talking about for vaseline use (Woman Wink) is what I think, it isn't recommended for that.  I think a better choice would be KY Jelly.

I am happy Noxema has worked for you.  I just remembered what a doctor told me many, many moons ago.

@Pink123   Back in the 60's we used A & D Ointment for babies'

diaper rash. Now my grand daughter uses Bu** Cream for her

babies.
