@Sue98 When we were young, my brothers and I used Vaseline in the pockets of our baseball gloves. At night we'd rub the leather with Vaseline and put a baseball into the glove, fold it and put a rubber band or string around it.It helped a new glove become soft and more pliable in our hands. When my Mom saw that, she said, "If if works on glove leather, it should work on my face!" She used it every night after that and had beautiful skin into her 90's, despite spending most of her life out of doors.

I can honestly say I've spent my fair share of money on a lot of different lotion this year and nothing is as good as good old Vaseline. When I'm still wet after my shower I put it all over my skin and I stay hydrated all day. I guess I should be happy after all it's dirt cheap. 😊

It is great for eczema when all else fails

I had surgery on my eyelids two months ago, for vision problems. Now my eyelids don't close completely at night, and I'm dealing with dry eye. My ocularplastic surgeon told me its OK to put a bit of vaseline in each eye before bed to keep them hydrated during the night. She said to look at the ingredients of most healing ointments (for eyes and otherwise) and that I'd see most of the products' ingredients are petroleum jelly.

Smell ? Never ,ever smelled snyting .Are you sure you are using pure Vaseline?
@MalteseMomma Yes absolutely. I have a very keen sense of smell, and even though most people would say there is no smell, there is to me. It's very faint, but one that I don't like at all.

I love vaseline for my lips, but I can't use it on my eczema. It makes my eczema worse.

Well, the proof is in the pudding----which reminds me: The man who invented Vaseline ate some every day.
Ponder that!

I use Vaseline all the time. I use it on the cuticles on my fingernails and toenails, on my feet, lips, elbows, and cuts. For some reason my ears get really dry and flaky and Vaseline works like a charm. I have even used it on my face in the winter when my skin get so darned dry.

Vaseline:
Our grandfather used a petroleum jelly ever since I can remember for his face, especially in winter, and a total moisturizer for everything.
He had the most beautiful skin that I had -ever-seen; that includes either any woman or man. Not a wrinkle on his face, or around his eyes.
I use a product that, also, has petroleum jelly in it. SOLD HERE!
It's the best, I have found for dry hands, cold weather related rigid cuticles, and a life saver if out in the winter winds.
Grandfather walked over 5 miles a day- every day until 90.
He died at age 92, almost 93, (from a simple week in the hospital from an infection- from sloppy nursing care), and to this day I can remember how glowing and SMOOTH his complexion was.
I use it around my eyes and dot it around my face... and incorporate it with a simple thin serum. I have not 1 wrinkle ( known as crows feet) or chaffed lips- I do use a cleanser sold here, but that's all.
Use at night for hands and feet. My skin is the same as when I was in my twenties. Of course it's not a lifting AGENT ingredient, so I can't address that.
I must have great skin genes, my brother is the same, sister, NO- :: she smokes, out of luck for smooth porcelain skin; more of an tinted color, not to mention her unnecessary copd/ emphysema. I am five years older.
NEVER smoked.AND! Proud of it!!
There is no product (my medical OPINION's educated knowledge) that can UNdo the sun's damage, or remove skin creases and lines on the face-
