I didn't know that. That was very interesting info so thank you for telling that. There was another thread about someone using conditioner first, then shampoo, then conditioner again and I think it worked well for them. But anyway, thanks for the info. That explains now why some regular conditioners get the scalp clean without the use of shampoo.

No I think it was well said also. Not necessary to swear allegiance to something if it doesn't work for you. And not doing so does not make you a lesser human being either..

To say that... "we have to use our brains" is her way of saying that those who choose anything other than shampoo are NOT using their brains. Nasty and insulting.....you can't see that ....that's your problem!

No. There was no "secret meaning" behind my words. Those who market products spend lots of time and money to figure out how to get us to buy into what they're selling, and we must be smart consumers. This applies to everything we purchase. Not just hair care! Don't be so sensitive.

Furthermore, if it's ok for some to say shampoo is bad for your hair, it's ok for others to say cleansing conditioner is bad for your hair. Everyone is free to express their opinion.

see here is the thing... you think marketing companies are hired to manipulate the psyche of the consumer to get them to believe a product is something they need when in fact you think they don't need. So they should use their brains to realize that. Well Chaz did not need a marketing company to sell the idea of cleansing conditioners. He absolutely believes every word that he says. He has been creating his own cleansing conditioners for over twenty years way before they were sold to the public. So really any WEN users who use his cleansing conditioners are in no way being duped. And yes we are using our brains.

This co(conditioner) washing is one of the key elements of the "Curly Girl" method by Lorraine Massey. This method is quickly becoming the holy grail of curly hair care. One important thing is really scrubbing the scalp when using conditioner to loosen and remove dirt. And then rinsing thoroughly. Conditioner can build up on scalp and clogs follicles, leading to hair loss. I tried it, and not a fan. I just use a sulfate free shampoo to get good results.
