To all who have used this:

Is it really as easy as it looks? Easy to keep contact? Any tips we -- who are still waiting for delivery -- should know?

Thanks! I am insanely envious!

Hi MarenSeattle,

The only area I had trouble keeping contact was the forehead and upper lip.

I'm a little ahead of everyone since I just started Week 3 but I hope you don't mind if I join in. Week 2 at Level 3 ended in red skin that lasted two days but after a two day rest, it looks fine. I also swelled a little under my right eye, but I think I might have gotten too close. I applied an ice pack and it went down within a short time.

I have oily skin so there is no dryness but I'm noticing rough patches so I'm going to try the steam with a washcloth to see if it gets rid of some of it. Because of the redness, I'm going to stick to the 5 days on, 2 days off plan to give it a chance for the redness to fade (I have fair skin so the redness might be more noticeable on me).

I'm going to try hard to stick with it for the 12 weeks. Good luck to everyone and keep the posts coming. I learn so much from the forum.

Did you say you'd used the Palovia? I'm curious if that's why you could jump right in on Level 2. I sure hope you hang on -- everybody who has is SO glad they rode it through the rough spots. I'm really fair, too, and the older I get, the more sensitive it becomes. I'm mentally inventorying my heavy, opaque makeups as I type. :-)

Thanks so much for letting us know what's happening with you. That's why I think these threads will be helpful. " Eeek! Why is my face getting more red, and what's with these rough patches. Oh, okay that happened to jmachere2 on her third week, too. I guess I'm really okay."

It's got to be scary watching your face go through such rapid changes -- and hearing of experiences like yours will help us to know we haven't totally destroyed it. :-)

Hope you're through this soon. Did you see the posts about Cure Natural Aqua Gel -- a gel exfoliator which I think is pretty gentle, if you get to that point. :-)

I did level 2 thinking I've had laser and other treatments before so I could go right to level 2 ~ big mistake for me. The serum did not soothe my face either. I pray this redness goes away by tomorrow. My skin also feels a bit rough (it is usually very smooth). So day 1 not so great for me. Here's hoping day 2 is better and less painful!! I may go down to level 1 tomorrow.

My first experience with the Tria.......OUCH!!!!!!!!!! Started on Level 2 too! It's okay,I survived it. I also took before pic and will keep track of my progress. Also, Not mentioning a thing to anybody I know to see if they notice any changes.

I think we need our own TRIA Board to share our experiences,

p.s. Thought mine was broke too since it didn't blink long, but someone else posted theirs came fully charged.

Well, there are so many of you who are diving right in to Level 2 -- and snowball already amped it up to Level 3 on her second day! I don't think I'm going to be that hearty, but we'll see.

I'm not mentioning it to anybody, either. They'll know we didn't take a few days off to get some work done, they'll just see us looking better and better as time goes on. I hope. By the way, hope you saw the posts that the best/most improvement came after the treatment ended -- when the collagen production really kicked in.

Use your ubs cable, just your cell phone one will do, and charge it with that. That's what the people on EDS did when they got a faulty connector. The base is fine, it's the ubs cord. Call anyway, but if you charge it up tonight, it may be up and running by the time you get through to them tomorrow. They'll send you a new one right away.

Sorry, have to ask -- you DID activate it, right?

EDS is Essential Day Spa. A site (sells products) that has great message boards. Just Google Essential Day Spa Tria Skin Rejuvenating Laser. That's what it's called in Canada and that's what they were reviewing. Heck, just Google Essential Day Spa and ANY product you're interested in. Those people have tried them all!

Let us know what happens with your connector -- Good luck!

Good Morning Tria gals!!! I woke up to no redness or dryness, but I know it is still too early. After I put the serum on, I also put on some Josie Maran's argan oil. My face feels nice and soft.

The only problem I had with it is the gliding over the skin. It seems to stick because there is no gel or anything to make it glide smoother.

Haha! And that's one of the things that people LOVE about it -- the no gel

I swear, I don't think you're EVER going to experience the side effects the rest of us mortals will. I sure hope it continues to be a piece of cake for you!

G'morning, all!! I found some helpful resources last week on Home Beauty Device Reviews, a Treatment Diary and a Layering Treatments Chart that lets you know which devices you can and cannot layer with other devices, including the Tria Anti-Aging Laser. Links to access and print them are pasted below for anyone who is interested:

Tria Treatment Diary right HERE

Layering Treatments Chart is right HERE

I decided to try the Tria, in lieu of Derma Rolling. I haven't decided if I'm going to follow the CA/UK or US protocol, but I'm leaning toward the 8-4-8 protocol, and my first treatment will be tonight. I won't actually get in a full 8 wks during my first round, because hubby and I are going to London on May 23rd. I also plan to do LED treatments each AM, but may wait until week two to add them. I may treat both my face and hands. I only caught one presentation and the vendor stated if you share it, that will reduce it's life span, so the same holds true for those of us who treat additional areas. I read somewhere that the life span is est. to be 3 years. Like many of you, I first learned about this Tria laser ages ago, have read a ton of info about it and wondered if it would ever get it's FDA clearance. I agree with those who think the USA protocol is a more conservative treatment approach.

I never tried the PaloVia, but I've had laser treatments in the past from my derm for skin tag removal as well as broken caps.

I read that "PaloVia uses a 1410 nm wavelength for treatment, compared to 1440 and 1540 for Palomar's professional non-ablative fractional lasers." It has a maximum energy output of 15 mJ. According to TriaBeauty, it's anti-aging laser's output wavelength is higher than the PaloVia (1440nm), but it's energy output is 5-12 mJ/pulse, depending on the setting you choose. I'm unsure how the Tria wavelength is higher, yet PaloVia has a higher maximum energy output.

I look forward to reading everyone's experiences and results.

Thanks Maren!! I too hope I have no problems down the road.

I am glad that you don't need gel with this, but for me it doesn't glide so smoothly. Anyway, I tend to get a rash from the gels of the NuFace and EGG. Never did before so I am wondering if they are putting another different ingredient in them. I can't use them.
