The red eye makeup reminds me of traditional Asian princess makeup. Red eyeshadow is suppose to symbolize youth. Geishas in Japan wear red eye makeup, too.

I watched a Whitney Houston video where she had on the blurred red eyeshadow and she looked good! Somehow she could pull this off and look beautiful, not overdone. 

 

I think that Whitney Houston could wear anything and look stylish. It's too bad all that went downhill because of drugs.

If you are into the look and wear it, good for you. As a child of the 80's we did some wild stuff.  That franklly, I couldn't pull it off then.  LOL.  My features just are not meant for it. LOL

 

Red eyes?  No thanks... but I love a red lip and that's as dramatic as it gets for me.

I won't wear a red lip, and I certainly won't wear a red eye.  Yikes.
