Really dumb question.  Are teeth whitening pens sanitary?   Aren't you constantly putting bacteria back into the pen tube.  I want to try them but I guess my hypochondria is getting to me.

Most use a peroxide substance to whiten teeth and that also kills bacteria.

I have always wondered why the coating doesn't just dissipate.  Which means it goes down the hatch?

For OP............you just brush the gel on YOUR teeth...........keeping lips apart.......pen doesn't go back in tube......just put cap back on tube like toothpaste.  If any spit.....it's YOUR spit.........

I am a total OCD freak when it comes to germs but I don't worry about this because I am the only one using the whitening pens so it's just my bacteria going back into my mouth where there is already bactera.  Just don't share the pens and you wilil be ok.

my teeth are already pretty white, but i use smileactives and it works for me..
