I'm quite certain they take returns because last month they sent me an used item!!  I bought a face palette online and when it arrived, there were fingerprints on two out of the three pans.  It was evident someone had swatched it before and even dug their nail into one of them.  I was so disgusted I returned it right away!

Don't most places accept makeup returns? And returns of any items that they sell? To not stand behind what they sell is pretty bad.

All stores accept returns on Makeup as long as you have your receipt, and you are within the return period, which is normally 30 days. Even if you are passed the 30-day period, stores like Walgreens will still accept it if you return it to the same store, because they can look up the receipt in their system.
