Has anyone had success strengthening hair and promoting growth with biotin?

I don't know if this is an answer to your question, but I thought I would share my recent experience.  I've been taking a Super B complex vitamin and this past week when my hairdresser went to cut my hair, her first comment was about how much my hair had grown in the past month. It was enough that she noticed on her own.  I don't know if this will help you or not, but thought I would share.

I'd say yes. I've been taking Consult Beaute hair/skin/nails vitamins since September and my hair has really grown. I have to trim my bangs on a weekly basis now.

@IUredhead is that different from b12? I take b12 and don't want to OD.

My hair has thinned with age & biotin does not seem to strengthen or thicken mine. I notice I trim the ends more often which I don't like having to do. I have noticed a big difference in my nails after taking over 2 yrs.

I took Andrew Lessman's Hair, Skin & Nails (or whatever it's called) for about a year then I switched to just biotin for about 6 months. The only places I seemed to get more hair was my chin and my moustache and I hate to say it but nose hairs.......*sigh*

I take Biotin and think it helps.  My hair grows fast and there's less in the brush than there used to be.  It's good for your skin too.  It's supposed to help nails, but I don't have much success there.  What you need to remember is that you need a hefty amount and make sure the supplement contains Bamboo Silica.  This is the one I'm taking now.  I get it from Vitacost.

Biotin is not B12.  Biotin is B7.

Too soon to tell .... I started taking biotin a couple months ago, so until my nails have grown out to the point where I started taking it, I have no idea yet.   Stay tuned, lol.

That's so strange. I see more benefits with my nails & you see more with your hair.
