Static In Hair

Is there ANYTHING that I can do to keep static out of my hair? I have to bring a dryer sheet with me everywhere I go because my hair always has static! What could be the cause of this?

I do wash and blowdry my combs and brushes when I wash my hair because I don't like to use dirty tools on my clean hair. Could this be the cause? What are some of the things that can cause static?
