So aggravated with trying to find the perfect foundation:(

Well most recently I have been wearing Physicians Formula youthful wear foundation. I thought I really liked it until yesterday when I checked myself out in my visor mirror. My face looked really uneven where the foundation was wearing off in certain places but not in others. This morning I opted for my Isomers foundation, which I have to mix 2 shades to get a color match, and then applied my Honeybee gardens powder on top. I don't like the way this looks at all.

I have brown spots to cover and light neutral skin. I will only buy from cruelty free brands and am not interested in ordering foundation. This really limits my choices. Department store wise I have no choices that are cruelty freeSmiley Sad Drugstore wise we have Physicians Formula and the ones offered at Target like boots. Anybody have any suggestions? I am feeling really frustrated.

No suggestions, but I do feel your pain. I have tried every foundation under the sun (with the exception of really expensive brands). None are perfect, and none do 100% what they say they will do.

I have found one (offered by QVC, not sure if it is cruelty free, unfortunately) that is the best so far, but still does not do everything they promised. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Is Bare Minerals on your "no buy" list? If not then you might want to check out their new liquid serum-foundation. I just checked it out and it looks interesting. And unlike most brands here, the shade selection is much broader than usual for QVC.

I like that is has a really light coverage option and seems to apply quite easily and seamlessly. I watched the two videos (one on shades and the other on application) and Jessica used very little to get decent coverage of the model's weak points (the flaws you'd want to hide) The brush applicator is very unique too.

Just a thought as I have given up on most foundations in general and wear either a light coverage TM or a little powder. But it's hard to find hydrating powders for my dry skin.

Thanks for your reply. You would think with all of the lines out there, we could find something. I really wish Estee Lauder would not have started selling in China. I did have good luck with their Double Wear foundation in the past.

Makeup Forever sold at Sephora has a fantastic range of shades. You may want to research them and if they meet your criteria, check them out in the store. Good luck

Thanks wackers. I did notice this new foundation. My problem is with ordering. I really don't want to pay two way shipping if the color does not work for me or the coverage is not enough. I tried their original mineral foundation years ago and found out I was allergic to bismuth oxychloride. I couldn't get a good color match either. I hope it works for you if you decide to give it a trySmiley Happy

I have been looking for years for the perfect foundation since the one I had used was discontinued (as usual!). I need coverage....none of the ones that say they have good coverage are even close to being any good on my skin; like putting water on my skin.....I don't want to wear a thick mask either.

Whoever comes up with this foundation will make a lot of money because I know there are a lot of us looking and waiting!

I agree with you on the thick mask feeling foundations. It seems like a lot of the ones that offer really good coverage feel this way on the skin.

Re: So aggravated with trying to find the perfect foundation:(

I've been struggling for years with this as well. Recently, I've had some success. First of all, I have redness to cover and my skin is extremely dry. Those are my major issues. Nothing I try stays on all day. The finish is too shiny, and doesn't last, but powder is way too drying and settles into everything. I also can't find the right color match. So after many purchases of the wrong foundation, and a lot of experimentation I finally discovered something that works for my skin. I mix equal parts of my very rich night cream, two different shades of tinted moisturizer (one too light, and one too dark), Amazon clay foundation in a too light shade, and another foundation in a too dark shade, and together I can achieve the color I want. Plus it is moisturizing! It even stays on all day. And I can use all the failed products I spent good money on. Of course this only works for me and my particular issues, but my skin looks better than it ever has. If your skin is dry, try mixing a little moisturizer, tinted moisturizer, and regular foundation. It is really light natural coverage and can be layered to achieve more coverage in certain areas. I am so happy I discovered this. My face also stays moisturized all day.

I use Nars and love it. Here is a list of cruelty free lists from a blog. My browser does not do live links so must cut and paste. HTH
