Re: So Upset when it is Presented

Regardless of the tool, you should use a heat protector. You can find expensive ones or inexpensive. I use Suave's because it just works and is cheap. Suave has many products that are just as good as the expensive ones. I really like their root booster, as do many.

Re: So Upset when it is Presented

I love mine, and my daughter loves hers too. It is not meant to tightly wind the hair around it and pull it out horizontally. I use mine mostly as I would a regular brush and just wind it loosely around the ends and pull it out vertically. We both get nice, soft waves. Also, I air dry my hair or let it dry overnight, as it's thin and dries quickly.

While it didn't do much for my hair, I used it to get a flip and it helped a bit. However, after a couple of months I noticed breaks on my ends and up the shaft of my hair where I used the Perfector. Thank goodness I never used it near my scalp. I have fine hair to my shoulders that was always healthy and never colored treated and I let it dry naturally and now it is split and broken. I have had to cut my hair shorter and it will be months and months before the damage grows out. For me this was a damaging product. I would love to get it off the market. Just a warning to those with fine hair.

Has it occurred to you that this might be the result of a nutritional deficiency and not the Perfector at all ?

Have you ever taken a supplement for "Hair, Skin and Nails" ?? There are several good ones out there .... I've been taking mine religiously for almost 2 years and they are very beneficial, but it takes time for the nail bed and hair shafts to grow out, but it's worth it, IMO. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

What have you got to lose ?

I do use Wen styling cream. Prior to the Perfector I used Velcro rollers and left them in for a few minutes on my air dried hair or just left it. If I had to, I would blow dry with Wen round brushes. My hair has never been dry, and it still looks healthy other than the awful breakage. You can't convince me the damage was not caused by the Perfector. Believe me you would be upset if this happened to you.

I agree. Horrible product! Not only is it damaging, but it's useless. Can't use it to straighten or curl hair. I wish I would have sent mine back. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

I feel for you! Any time I've ever seen this presented I've thought it looks no better than simply using a blow dryer and round brush. I agree with Chaz that all the irons are very bad for the hair. That much heat is always going to be damaging in the long run, esp for fine hair. And all the vitamins and heat protectant spray in the world aren't going to protect hair against very high temperature heat damage.

Yes, I would be very upset if this happened to me, and I don't doubt that it happened to you, not for a minute...there was nothing wrong with your post--except for the "I would love to get it off the market" statement. Otherwise it was a very good critique about your experience. But it was your experience, not everyone's, as proven by others' posts. I've had bad experiences with any number of things, but I don't believe they should be taken away from those who do like them.

Re: So Upset when it is Presented

I have the Perfector and love it! It is quick and easy to use and gives my hair shine and movement. I don't understand why the OP states she is so upset when it is presented...that's kind of dramatic.....we are all different and the same thing does not work for everyone. I've had bad experiences with products all the time-live and learn-but I love that we have so many products to choose from! If I see a product that didn't work for me I don't buy it again, I may tell somebody my experience but other than that I don't give it another thought.

Well, you've never color treated your hair, so the Perfector is to blame .... it might be the problem, but like I said in Post # 22, you might be in need of a Hair Skin & Nails supplement to strengthen your hair! {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Very true.
