Re: Smooth appearance of foundation

I think it's a combination of starting with good skin, the right products, and technique.

@San Antonio Gal   I use my fingers, and a nice make up brush and occasionally a sponge...tomorrow I will try the just the sponge.  Thanks

@Mom2Dogs  - Try it with the sponge being damp too.  Maybe that will help.  Good luck!

Shaving your face and using a primer makes a HUGE difference in how your liquid foundation looks!  HUGE!  For the better!!

Re: Smooth appearance of foundation

Wayne Goss has a 13 dot technique for applying foundation that Dr Sam Bunting uses for skin care.

13 DOT FOUNDATION TECHNIQUE! FLAWLESS COVERAGE EVERYWHERE! - YouTube

three dots across the forehead (on the left and right side, in the middle).

three dots down each cheekbone.

two dots on the chin (on the left and right side).

two dots on each side of the nose.

Re: Smooth appearance of foundation

For me, I use a dermaflash, much  like this one--A625387---Now I did not pay that much $$ for mine but it looks the same. It shaves off the tiny fine hairs on the face. Peach fuzz is what I mean--you can buy very inexpensive ones from AMZ too--like in packages of 10 for under $10, which I have. I do this maybe 2x a month on clean dry skin. It takes a few times to get the hang of it but it will make your products go on smoothly and actually, skincare serums etc,  looks/feels like it get into your skin. Make up goes on nicely too.

How do you apply your foundation?

@San Antonio Gal I was just goin gto say I use a dampened sponge and I get a great even coverage that is never cakey, or too much! I do not use a primer as I have more combo skin, but for some that may work better as well.

Re: Smooth appearance of foundation

I also have been using the technique that @Boehm Collector mentioned and it works well for me.  Once done, I do go over my face with a sponge.  If I don't use this method, I use a dampened sponge.  Getting that flawless looks can be tricky.

@San Antonio Gal  I use that orange real techniques sponge too and I love it! I like to buy the multi-packs of them on Amazon.  Smiley Happy
