Ever notice that when Dimitri is applying a skin product on a model, they never crack a smile.  They keep a straight expression ... almost as if they don't want to disturb the skin.  But that's not how we live.  We laugh and make all kinds of expressions throughout our day.  I think they are told to hold that freeze frame face.

I did notice the models not changing expressions.  I for the most part do the same.  I think it allows my skin care to do what it is supposed to.  Don't know if it makes any difference but I look for any advantage I can find.

Re: Skinn Demonstrations

[ Edited ]

It's not just Skinn demo's.  That's how models are taught to "model", by holding a still and expressionless face.  Even when someone is getting their makeup done by someone, they're supposed to be still while it's being applied.

Dimitri loves Shawna.  She's a real pro, but sometime he plays around trying to get her to  smile.

LOL @JeanLouiseFinch he does and then he teases her when he is slamming the mascara on her eyes and they get teary (I could NEVER let anyone apply mine like that) I remember the time he got it in her eye and it got all red and teary...he kept going and my heart went out to her! He can be as rough as Adrienne when applying the makeup...she is a true pro!

There's one model who really irritates me. I think they call her Kat. Short gray/white hair. Anyway, she comes on smiling-a huge smile. She remains smiling the whole time she is being made up. Afterwards, she's still smiling. I know that a smile will lift your face and actually take years off. Apparently she knows it, too.

I always thought Kat was a great model for Dimitri's Radiance, which Kat says she wears all the time. I thought she looked great. However, I was so surprised when she told her age last time and it was 60 something, and I thought she was much older, like in her 70's.

Have you wated the demonstrations when they show the models before and after side by each, and you look and look hard and can't tell which is the before and which is the after and have to read which is which. That happens a lot with me.

Exactly. - I don't laugh, talk, or show lots of different expressions when applying my own makeup.

When Dimitri is on The Shopping Channel in Canada, he also tends to use the same Canadian models all the time. They are a different group then the American ones on Evine. What I notice that's really different is Dimitri's wardrobe in Canada. He never wears those sequin jackets in Canada like he does on Evine. He wears a much simpler and plainer shirt on air.
