SUGGESTIONS OF YOUTUBERS TO FOLLOW AND WHY

[ Edited ]

1.  Pampered Wolf is liscenced aesthetician

2.  Anthony Youn MD  Plastic Surgeon

3.  PENN.SMITH.SKINCARE LLC

4.  Mandy Davis  (MUA)

5.  Lisa J  former senior "coach" for MAC and now has

own line of brushes/beauty called BK BEAUTY

6.  Nikol Johnson  (my grey hair go to) & skincare

              specialist,

but now spends too much time hawking her own

             line of skincare/cosmetics.

7.  Risa Does Makeup (Makeup over 40)

8. Dominique Sachse (makeup over 50)

There are many others. Please check credentials. Be careful about purchasing recommended products by youtubes who are much younger (skincare and makeup). A lot of this of common sense, but thought needs mentioning.

***Watch for the skincare/makeup ads that pop up in the middle of videos. They may be getting some monetary feedback by these companies for having lots of followers. This isn't bad if they're professionals because I'm sure they're not swayed by that. I'm more concerned, as mentioned before, by affiliant links and discount codes (unless for their own products).

Re: SUGGESTIONS OF YOUTUBERS TO FOLLOW AND WHY

@Shanus  I get Anthony Youn's emails every week and he has very useful information, but I have not tried any of his products,  I like to read about various procedures, which ones he recommends and which to stay away from.  If I ever get back to Michigan, I hope to stop in at his office and see what he has there.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@Shanus

Morning all

Since working from home I have had time to look at a lot but the ones I subscribe to are

Dr Dray - dermatologist . As someone who at 57 still has acne prone skin her recommendations and philosophy have improved my skin

Nikol Johnson great for women for beauty , silver hair and just great content

Karin Gade German makeup artist and hairstylist . She has short silver hair and gives fabulous tips for hair and makeup

Beyond the literal -Makeup artist Naomi Robles . All  about making makeup work for you , discusses trends like red lips , smokey eyes and how to wear it simply . I oicked up some great tips on concealer, tightlining . Her video are short and to the point .

Free Range Diva -Cheryl Turner . Healthy life style for women over 40 . beauty , health and lifestyle

@SXMGirl   I like that Dr. Youn leans towards holistic solutions (sometimes) before surgical procedures. He shoots from the hip if results are not possible from products alone.

@marmarbrooklyn   No haters please: I have only one issue with Dr. Dray. She's super thin...I'm thin too, but not to that extreme. She seems to over exercise and be too concerned about calorie intake and eating. It could send the wrong message to younger viewers.

Re: SUGGESTIONS OF YOUTUBERS TO FOLLOW AND WHY

[ Edited ]

I do watch Lisa J., Risa and Dominique.  I don't really watch any beauty YouTuber for their credentials, I watch them because I enjoy them, find them pleasant to watch and sometimes they give good tips and tricks.  There are a lot of people I watch because I like the way they do their make-up even though a lot of it is never anything I would typically do.

I don't want to slam any of these women but some of them really need to lay off the filters after they are done with their tutorials.  We can see what their skin looks like because they start off bare faced.  One woman in particular, from Australia, I cannot even watch any longer because she has inflated her lips so much it looks ridiculous.  It's a shame because she's a very pretty woman.

Risa used to own a make-up boutique with her sister and she is also a former make-up artist.  I also enjoy Mandy Lea.  She isn't quite 40 and is just an everyday person but I generally enjoy her reviews and looks she puts together.  Stephanie Marie is another one I generally watch.

I have more of an issue with sponsored videos than affiliate links or discount codes.  Some companies have lost all credibility with me because there are so many Youtubers they are in sponsorship with and every YTer I've seen just loves the products.  One of those companies is Function of Beauty.

The only one I watch anymore is Wayne Goss once in while or I'll watch a cross section of reviews for a certain skin product or tool. Everything is so heavily sponsored or they're selling their own products so I'm pretty skeptical at this point.

I am liking LittlePoet.  She is about 65 and does lifestyle, feel-good, empowerment, shoppilng, and some skin care.  Just something about her style (not her clothes, her attitude).

I'm a huge fan of Dr Dray. I've used some products she has recommended and have been very pleased.
