Well, day 1 and so far so good! I was tempted to go to the mall and Lowe's this morning, but I resisted. One of the reasons is that our 12 year old dog was vomiting issues yesterday, so I took her to the vet where they gave her fluids, did blood work etc and the bill was $186! Don't care about the $, she is much better today and I am thankful! This whole episode just reinforces my resolve to be grateful for my health, my loved ones and my pets, and stop chasing material things! Love reading all of your posts!

Count me in. I'm committed to a no buy for Jan. Of course the next 21 days will be a true test to break my habit of impulse buys to give me my fix when I'm stressed and down. So far have only spent $39.75 to renewal the tags on the car.

I'm in-especially cutting completely in January-NO purchases other than essential groceries,no restaurants,no take-out food!

I at least got started with one small task today. I went thru my kids' bookcases to make room for the new books they got for Christmas and we got a pile together of ones they no longer want. So I have 46 books in a bag to either try to sell or donate. Every little bit helps. Now just have to actually get them out of the house.

I am in. Hope each week to clean out something and not buy as much, I still work part time and now have a husband that has health issues. I feel there will be a lot of changes coming in 2015.

This post is timely for me. Not only will I not buy anything more but will ruthlessly give my excess clothes to charity. My son will be moving back home due to illness and need to find room for his things. I have accumulated what too much of everything.l

Yesterday before midnight, I purchased the last few items of running gear that I wanted so that I was clear to go for today. I have no guilt and I now have a clean slate. I have enough cold weather gear to get me through my winter runs. credit cards are closed for business
