@monicakm I have tried a million curling irons, and I did not care for the rotating ones. As others point out, it makes no difference. But if she is a teenager, maybe get her what she wants. Because teenagers want what they want.
In terms of what works best, rotating wands just don't give me the control to style my hair how I wanted. I had the Potempa and didn't like it, not enough control. I would specifically discourage her from any curler that sucks hair in. I almost lost my hair in one of those because the hair was trapped inside and the thing was hot, so I couldn't just pull my hair out. 😱 😱 😱 Eventually pulled it out when it cooled, little by little.
I find non-moving wands the best way to curl my hair because of the control that they give me. I can put the curl exactly where I want it and make it look exactly how I want it. I have had an expensive one by Chi and an inexpensive one by Conair. I liked the Chi better because the Conair one is shaped like a cone, and Chi has several straight barrel sizes. She would need a heat glove
The Chi one I bought is no longer available, but they have a similar one for less $. Amazon has an interchangeable Chi curling wand for $66.
The cheap Conair works well but I prefer the straight barrel.

@bmorechick wrote:@SportyShorty07 she does!!! I got me one too in tiger lily orange. I drink a lot of water throughout the day. It's just a splurge thing right now. Even hubs got in on it. He got a black one 😆
@bmorechick I love it! Sounds like you, your hubs and granddaughter started a Stanley Cup Squad! ![]()
The Tiger Lilly and Pink ones are super cute and your hubs picked a cool classic black! I read that Stanley's recent surge in popularity increased tumbler sales by over 300% in a year. I want to get in on the Stanley fun, especially with this heat wave this summer

I'm not seeing this brand in a rotating curling iron (on Amazon).
@monicakm Okay, right....I know what you mean about rotating curling irons. No, Bio Ionic doesn't rotate. I think in my head, I was just thinking about the ionic shine. I tried a rotating iron once, but it wasn't for me. I can spin one pretty quick on my own, so I went for the BI.

I do not understand this Stanley craze. I'm sure it's not the first thing I haven't understood. My granddaughter asked me for one last Christmas but I had already bought her everything I was going to. I guess her parents bought it for her because she has a creamy white tan color with a silver emblem.
Nice choice.
We are giving her money along with other gifts so she's free to get a rotating curling iron with that money but I'm going to warn her about the pitfalls of a rotating curling iron.

I'm glad that teens are staying hydrated and stylish at the same time with the Stanley cup trend.

They probably said "maybe Grammuffy will get it for you". I haven't talked to my daughter about it yet. They were in West Virginia for a week and a half, one day at home and then drove to Houston and back in the same day for a birthday party. Houston is over 200 Mi away.

I'm just going to give her money and let her get what she wants but I'll also tell her what I've learned about the rotating curling irons.
