Re: Received The RMS TSV! (From 8/9/22)

@justashopper   Before you toss the lip balm, try it as a cream blush and an eye shadow. It may work for you with a different purpose. Also try it with a lip liner filling in your lips before the balm to alter the shade.

I don't understand why its so hard for the vendors to describe the shades.  Drives me nuts also.  Maybe they are told my the Q to present it that way.  But I'd like to know if it's light neutral warm toned or light/medium cool toned or  whatever.  But none of them do that.  The way Tarte presents their shades is ridiculous.  At least with the RMS presentation, Rose Marie did say that some of her shades had a slight peach tone to it.  That helped!

I received mine yesterday. I most definitely prefer IT cc cream over this foundation as it is more hydrating. Lip color and highlighters are absolutely useless for me. Have not tried the mascara but I am not impressed at all.

Re: Received The RMS TSV! (From 8/9/22)

Thanks for your advice again  @Shanus! I took a chance and put it on this morning. We are filmed, so I usually go with a heavier foundation. Today I didn't. I used my Josie Maran Milk, followed by sunscreen (Sun Bum for face), let them dry and put one pump of the foundation on with my fingers. I used a peach undereye concealer from Voodoo makeup.

I always use Laura Geller Spackle in Champagne, but I didn't today. I was glad to read you don't use primer all of the time!

I was wearing coral, so I used a cream blush by Tower. I set everything with Mally's Face Defender.

I think the foundation looked better today. There is no "demarcation" line at my jawline, which is something that bothers me. I see so many young girls with perfect makeup, but it is just the wrong color for them. I know you must see this a lot too!

I like the feel of this, and I just looked in the mirror a while ago. It still looks good!

So tomorrow I'll try the rest of the products in the kit!  Smiley Wink

@beach-mom   Glad you're trying it with your skincare. That'll be the true test.

I haven't worn full coverage foundation in many years. I switch around between a tinted moisturizer (Laura Mercier), RMS, foundation sticks by Westman Atilier which are sheer and only worn where needed and there are days I just wear concealer...2 shades: lighter for under eyes and one that matches my skin to cover any area of redness.

There's definitely a learning curve with any new foundation. I hope you like the rest of the TSV.

@Shanus

Thanks.  That's a good idea.  It probably would work as an eyeshadow.

Hi @JudyL

I agree with you!  I have actually heard vendors and good ones, too! say things like "medium is a litttle darker then light medium."

Like, really?  You're kidding.  LOL.

I think the way to describe the colors would be to say things like-- this color is for medium tones that have more pink.  This one is more yellow based.  I think people can understand that... I know for me, I can't wear IT! foundation or powder, it's too yellow.

I did appreciate RMS stating the peach in two of the shades.  I picked my shade by her description and it is good (11.5).  I also on the advice of someone on this forum tried the shade finder on her website.  The website advice was for a lighter shades (00 or 11).

@justashopper  - I always love the vendor that says "Light/Medium is if you are between a light and medium."  Really?  How ridiculous is that?  Is it cool toned, warm toned, what?  If the vendor spent a little more time explaining the shades, I bet there would be far less returns or unhappy customers.  Showing models using the product and saying what shades they are in, is not a lot of help to me.  At least show decent swatches of each shade as opposed to pics of models or actual models, as that would show more as to whether the shade is cool or warm toned.
