A consumer protection law says that if a company accidentally sends you something, it cannot charge you for it and cannot try to require you to send it back.

So, all of you praising QVC and Amazon, it's NOT the company you should be praising; it's the law.

@Squirrels Are Trash @If you read my entire post you will see they offered to send another lip liner for me to try for FREE. They sent me exactly what I ordered but the texture of one liner was different than the others. They told me to keep it and pick another color that they would send gratis.   That's great CS.

@AnnieBelle  I've had just the opposite issue with Amazon (not talking makeup here, though).  Received an empty package.  Hubby ordered some nuts and bolts or something, a very tiny object.  The blue-and-white Amazon delivery plastc-y envelope was empty.  Two of us looked through, no item in there.  Amazon refused the return and said the package could not have been empty.   After two attempts at arguing about it, Hubby didn't think the $8.99 purchase was worth fighting over.  Our first ever bad Amazon experience.

@BarbiHollywood And I had the opposite experience with basically the same thing, small white and blue envelope that hadn't been sealed properly.

@BarbiHollywood  Wow, sorry this happened to you.  Amazon usually provides stellar customer service.  Maybe it was a third-party seller?

@AnnieBelle I don't know.  It was frustrating, for sure.  That when hubby decided it just wasn't worth arguing anymore about it.  Here's another Amazon nightmare story -- one day, out of the blue, I got a package even though I hadn't ordered anything.  When I opened it up, it was a    s e c k s   toy.  I contacted Amazon to tell them what arrived.  They said just keep it.  Crazy but true.

@Icegoddess Yes, that was the same packaging.  Hubs' package was sealed tightly, used scissors to open it.  Not the end of the world -- just frustrating.  ;-)

Well maybe it's not exactly the same thing, we used to have a subscription for cat food on Chewy. It was a very specialty allergy free cat food. The last order that we had already shipped when she passed away.  I alerted them that she had died, and what to with all the food; they were very kind when I spoke to someone on the phone and said to please donate all those cases of the cat food, that they were sorry for our loss, and we would not be charged for the order. Later in the month we actually received a sympathy card from them regarding the death of our cat. I thought that was above and beyond customer service and I always tell everyone that story if they're considering using their services. and actually the shelter that we donated all those cases to ended up being the same shelter we went back to to adopt our three newer members of the family. The shelter had reached out to us as well and sent us many thanks because they never get the specialty type of food for cats particularly if they have allergies. Due to the expense they usually can't afford it either.
