Qvc has over 150 beauty brands, but

So I just turned on the tv and look who was on again on beauty iq. Josie maran. So out of curiosity I searched for all beauty brands and stopped counting at 150. Why is it that brands like philosophy, maran, malls, it cosmetics, calista, Peter Thomas Roth, are on over and over and over again? It’s really getting old

I think IT Cosmetics is on a lot as well.

@Mom2Dogs You are correct.  IT Cosmetics is one of the more frequent QVC brands shown.

I guess the brands that sell a lot are on the most.  However, many people do not look online so some of the other brands could just fade away if they aren't shown on air.  They should show more brands and do not need a rep. to be there as the host should be able to do the presentations alone.

I have tried several brands of cosmetics from the Q but really love the bath gels from Philosophy and the super large sizes they offer. I agree with you that there is an overload of makeup and the like and would LOVE to see them bring back some of the collectibles again {in moderation, of course}. I was an avid collector back in the 90's and miss seeing them in the lineup.

@Katilein  I believe the ones that are not on do not have the same kind of contract with QVC.  Everyone has a different contract and certain vendors are considered regulars.  I know sometimes you get sick of seeing the same ones over and over again. I do too.  HeartCat Happy

The biggest sellers get the most airtime because they bring in the most money to QVC...plain & simple.

@SurferWife  I think it has to be more than that.  The biggest sellers got that way partly because of all the on-air time.  It's a repeating, no-risk pattern.  There are 10 or so top beauty products that sell well, they are always presented -- they sell well, etc.

The vast majority of products have never been on air at all.  so how does QVC know whether it will be a huge seller, or not?  They aren't even presented to see if they can bring in lots of sales.

The reps for these companies also live in close proximity to QVC so they can schedule frequent visits. They also have the biggest sales. Also it benefits the vendors to have products ordered when they are on air. So if you buy Josie's body butter when she is actually on air  that gives her a bigger percentage than if you ordered when she is not on air.

@Caaareful Shopper  Even more strange when some of these seldom seen products win the Customer Choice Awards....
