Questions about exfoliation

[ Edited ]

currently using Strivectin daily reveal exfoliating pads every couple of days. Product has AHA, glycolic acid. Keeps my face feeling smooth. I  was looking on Amazon at similar products- one has glycolic acid, vit c, niacinimide, hyaluronic acid. Would that be better, I mean it has more stuff in it. And only $24. Then looked at the Dr Denese pads- reasonably priced for the amount you're getting. Tons of good sounding ingredients. Do all of these products basically do the same thIngs?

@smoochy , I use Strivectin and Nassifmd detox pads.  My favorite is Nassifmd which I use every day.  I use Strivectin a couple of times a week.  Ingredients in NASSIF are below...

Nassif has my skin feeling nice and smooth and has faded a couple of sun spots quite a bit.  I find there is more product in the NASSIF pads so I use them on my hands too.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Methyl Gluceth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Pentylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, PPG-5-Ceteth-20,Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 20, Sodium PCA,Bakuchiol, Potassium Sorbate, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Ectoin,3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Sorbitol, Dihydroxy Methylchromone

Re: Questions about exfoliation

I use the NASSIFMD detox pads every day but Sunday. On Sunday I use Philosophy triple acid brightening peel pads. I like them both a lot.

Re: Questions about exfoliation

I use the Nassiff exfol pads too and I really like them. I usually use them at least once a day and I can say that after a few weeks--not months--I have seen a difference. One of the very few products, I might add. I did order his new ones that are the resurfacing pads that you use 1-2 a week, and also use his night cream. Am surprised at this brand. I also use the Nia line of Strivectin  and really like that.  Sunday Riley is a good brand too.

Re: Questions about exfoliation

I have never tried the StriVectin pads, but I use $25 pads from Amazon (Glycolic Acid Pads 35% - Peel Pads with Natural Glycolic Acid, Vitamin B5, C, E  from LumiWill) and they are pretty decent.  They are better than Dr. Denese's, not as strong as the Philosophy triple acid pads, which I really like and are expensive.  I stock up on the Philosophy when they are on sale at Q.  They are also not as strong as Dr. Gross's which I also like but are also expensive.

Re: Questions about exfoliation

Ever since I had an industry professional tell me to peel, peel, peel, I've been a big believer in exfoliation.  I use baby muslin washcloths on my face, but I also use a couple of different pads.  Every night, I use a Nassif Detox Pad.  They have some glycolic acid but I don't think they're all that powerful for exfoliating.  For me, they make sure I've gotten my face clean before moving onto my nighttime skincare routine. In the morning, I use a Dr. Denese firming pad.  I just bought the Nassif Retexturizing Pads and will be using them 2-3 times per week, probably in place of the Dr. Denese pad.

I exfoliate daily ... using Kiss My Face Olive Oil Soap and exfoliating bath gloves.  No chemicals and it works great ... I can do my entire body in just a few minutes in the tub.

I have oily skin so I follow with a once-over my face with witch hazel and Avon's Dramatic Firming Cream.

I've been doing the daily routine for years.  Inexpensiive and everything available at Amazon.

Re: Questions about exfoliation

Not all exfoliants do the same thing. BHA and AHA do different things for your skin. Lots of info online about the various exfoliants and their benefits. Too much exfoliation can irritate skin too.
